The laptop is awesome, massive upgrade on my previous laptop. Even though my old laptop was windows 10, this one has a lot of new features on the operating system level.

Screen is a lot more vibrant, havent tested performance yet but runs quietly can do 4k youtube videos without buffering, my old laptop couldnt at all, theres no bloatware (EXCEPT MACAFEE which Asus installed I removed them), it has the fingerprint scanner on touchpad, etc

      • Btw amazon gave me $30 dollar promo credit from chat support after pressing them. They will offer return which I didnt want obviously and then they offered the second option of $30 promo credit for next order which is awesome

        • What did you tell them?

          • @poormansfriedchicken: I said I cant use this laptop doesnt turn on no working charger. then they say return, I say dont want to return, product sold on amazon.com.au should work for australians, then they offer. I didnt ask for coupon.

    • Not sure exactly what you're looking for, but would something like this from Jaycar could suit your needs? Only $7.95:

      2 pin
      https://www.jaycar.com.au/2pin-fig-8-mains-plug-to-iec-c7-fe…

      3 pin
      https://www.jaycar.com.au/3pin-mains-plug-to-iec-c5-clover-l…

I got a laptop from the US and had the same problem, the 3 pin version of this sorted it out for me.

      • Yeah this one is the pins plug, not round. Otherwise would be good option. The cheap chinese ebay one works Its just crappy and dangerous so I will buy another adapter.

    • Fyi I sent them an email and they offered to refund me the cost of a charger that has au plug or 10% refund. I went with 10%off. Really happy with outcome

      • Thats really lucky they gave you 10% off, over $80 dollar saving over an adapter you can buy for 10 dollars.

Btw could you do a ping test on your vivobook, I have a problem with mine being extremely jittery, you can test here:

        https://www.meter.net/ping-test/

You can compare it with other laptops / pcs you have, the jitter should be less than 5ms and ping less than 30ms if normal. My vivobook however gives 40ms jitter and spikes to 250ms.

        • 2021-06-14 10:38Australia - Sydney:
          min: 23 ms
          avg: 48.4 ms
          max: 121 ms
          median: 49.0 ms
          jitter: 17.9 ms

Thats my results just then on Wifi. How does that look?

          • @massari: Thanks for doign it, thats about in the middle of best and worst test runs on my vivobook.

            My old laptop just did:
            min: 22 ms
            avg: 25.7 ms
            max: 53 ms
            median: 24.0 ms
            jitter: 3.9 ms

See that is quite a big difference. You can run the test multiple times to see if the results change,

Another website you can use, and this is very noticable if you play any of these games, is online games.

Select the OCE or Australia server in the list by ticking it and press PING. Click it a few times to get an average.

            https://pingtestlive.com/minecraft
            https://pingtestlive.com/overwatch

Or other games listed under the heading 'gaming ping'.

For me, all the ones I checked give around 30 ping with almost no movement on my old laptop, and double that or more + jitter on the vivobook.

I discovered a problem with the laptop, maybe.

The latency of internet on it is terrible, running a ping test with

    1. https://www.meter.net/ping-test/

    or

    1. open cmd
      ping google.com

its extremely jittery and my old laptop does 11ms flat google ping no jitter while the vivobook is all over the place 50-150-80-100

    theyre on the same network…

Nothing I have done so far fixed it
