In these times, the Irreverant Guide is Irrelevant…

    • Not one to prepare for the future?

Do you mean stockpiling pasta and toilet paper?

Just finished this. Not to be replaced by a true travel guide but more of Bourdains thoughts of each places.

If you like Bourdain you will definitely like this.

    Also, what's travel again?

Edit: It is also the last book half written before his death. Somehow reading this book means so much more.

This is the bloke that got me traveling the world 20 years ago or so. Definitely recommend this!

THIS! Anthony Bourdain is the reason why I fell in love with travelling, he's the reason why I lived in Chiang Mai for a period and went to the SEA countries.

Was lucky enough to meet him in Malaysia after his Laksa Sarawak filming for s06e07. That is one of my all-time treasured memories.

I still haven't brought myself to watch the last series because once I watch it, the fact he is gone is all too real.

  • Look forward to reading it - placed Hold to borrow at library.

RIP Bourdain. I miss that accent…

No one explained Collateralised Debt Obligations to me as well as Anthony did.

    Miss this guy so much

  • Is it hardcover or soft? Doesn’t even say on big w.

Also it’s already $20 without the promo code. Pomo code doesn’t work either

Those ninja chopping onions at it again

Where/who do the profits go to?

Not his ex I hope. Anthony ended his life after he found about her taking his money to pay an underage victim of her sexual predation. It would be really bad if she gets the profits.

I'm listening to his Kitchen Confidential in the car on the way to work, and it's as brilliant as when I first read it.

    A great loss

    RIP Anthony.

He really set the bar for immersive travel experiences via his poetic narrative.

He inspired me to live abroad in a few off-the-beaten-road destinations and changed my outlook on life. I would consider myself a disciple of Bourdain.

His death inspired me to explore my own mother country just vagabonding it through Vietnam for 8 months…life is short, enjoy it when you can.
