Thanks OP. Fyi no Widevine support :( so only SD streaming from most services including Netflix, Prime etc.

I wish there was a decent 8 inch tablet.

    • iPad mini?

      • With decent storage

        • I feel 99% of tablets never leave the sofa / house so massive storage isn't a big deal.

@Merlict: Sadly my Lenovo tab 3 8 plus begs to differ….

          • -1

@Merlict: My tab s lte, tab S4 lte and now tab s7+ 5g seem to disagree.

@Merlict: My 10inch lives in the lounge room unless it's holiday time.

My 8 inch goes everywhere. It's full of comics and TV shows.

            So your 1/2 right :)

            • @Nalar: "My 10inch lives in the lounge room unless it's holiday time.

My 8 inch goes everywhere." Well no need to brag :P

              • @Forfiet: No questions in the back of your mind why I have two?

      • Yeah, waiting for the new one to come out. Would prefer an android at half the price though!

    • If only Huawei didn't get the ban hammer.

Still using a media pad m5 8.4". Qhd screen is top notch, micro sd, good speakers. Too bad this was the last model that had google play.

Problem with this chinese brand tablet is (not huawei lenovo),:
    specs looks good,
    photos looks amazing,
    price is okay.
Cant go wrong! I just need cheap tablet! Its okay just $xxx…. Wrong…..
When it arrives you'll be disappointed.
Even if you already set your expectations to low.

Could you make the point regarding "wrong" or "disappointed" explicitly? I'm interested in this table.

A bit small to be used as a table.

        • 10.4" table would technically be a cake centrepiece stand. Indeed would be too small to be a table

    • Please give more info. Surely this would be fine for kids to play games and watch a bit of YouTube?

Don't know about this model but got the iplay 20 about 6 months ago and been happy with it so far.

    • Depends what you need it for. Usually the OS may have some stutters and will be abandoned after a year but for media consumption, they're perfectly fine.

Obviously don't expect to do dex style computing with these tablets.

  • $50 more you could get the xiaoxin pad/lenovo p11. Much better 11" qhd screen and widevine l1, have to sideload Netflix though

Yep I bought a Teclast M30 X27 9 months ago and the specs on paper (the ad) looked fantastic and should have been a beast, but it was a slow piece of Chinese junk.

Now My missus has a Tab S6 lite and its night and day, lol

These tablets seem to be quite reasonable, Android 10, low/no bloat, CPU with Antutu 220k or so, reasonably bright laminated screen, 128GB storage and 8GB RAM
I think the price could be better than this though.
For comparison, Alldocube site on aliexpress shows them for USD209.99

Here is techtablets review, where it was $180USD on pre-prder, and he suggests the price may be lower at some point.

Just adding, my thread here is me waiting for this tablet to be delivered: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/625530

Sadly by the time it gets to my house the sale will probably be over…. Still might be able to update with some on hand experience later…..

Bought iPlay40 earlier and using it right now. Here are something can be improved:
    - Only has 3 button navigation option, no gesture option
    - Video sound a bit behind in video players (YouTube is fine) while playing it at 1.5+x speed
    - over 500 gram which is a bit heavy for me
    - GPS worked fine for Nav in my car, but very hard to get a lock in pub transports, it's inaccurate in bus, train, tram etc. so not good for travel I think.

Received 4 updates so far which seemed to improve the video sound a bit. General speaking, it's a great tablet, can make calls, support band 28, etc.

  • Excellent tablet. They've released the iPlay 20S recently with a minor hardware update and Android 11. I would not be surprised if this tablet gets similar treatment, making an Android 11 update more likely.

  • Got the tablet and enjoying it so far….. Not having the sound issue beancurd mentioned but I'm using newpipe for youtube so…. I'll try to answer any questions if you have any? :P
