I have a cable about this length that I use when travelling and at work…
i prefer it to the long cables (less tangles, clutter on the desk etc) and have had several colleagues/contractors ask where I got it
so I would say PASS rather than FAIL

meh, I got one for 50 cents the other day (I think..)
The bag of free water beads is good.
1) firstly this cable is shorter in length (so it is a cheaper version = shorter).
2) secondly, on ebay there're lots of standard length for around $1.00 delivered
3) buy 2 or 5 in quantity, it is even cheaper on ebay!
so I don't see this as a bargain at all.
Mine lasted less than a month. I've never seen a cable last such a short period of time…
This one is future proof because it works with iPhone 5.
