These have been on sale a couple of days now,

I wonder where @Lysander goes to get their price notifications? Sometimes they're especially esoteric or impressive with their "Bargain" factor, and other times it's like you've dug them up from some price aggregator website for the sake of satisfying some sort of OzBargain quota. It's conspicuous and curious in a hilarious way, nonetheless appreciate your contribution to the community.

It has to do with (a) rules, (b) with what I play and need to find for my other "job", and (c) the time I have to go looking in the first place as
I do not use bots or automated price notifications at all.
My only rule really is if price is all time lowest or close to it.
Glad you appreciate it though - always nice to hear.

  • waiting for Batman: Return to Arkham on Game Pass

    • The return to Game Pass of Return to Arkham.

(It was on there in the past)

On that note though, weirdly they were gonna delist Knight a few months back and instead kept it and added it to the list of streamable games. V odd.

  • The Lego deals on Aus. Xbox are (profanity) shit. I rebought Lego Marvel 1 and Avengers on Xbox the other week to play with the kiddo (had them on PS4 yeeeeears back but sold the PS4 last year) and I just bought a 10 buck USD Xbox card, they're always on sale for 4.99 USD. Only paid I think 12.95 or so AUD for the tenner so basically 6.50 a game, most of the Lego titles hover around this price on the regular sales if I'm not mistaken. Very odd the price difference in sales on these Lego titles, most other things are a bit more in line but regularly 5 USD versus 26 or so a pop on sale here, ridiculous.

Do you think a lot of people here have US accounts?

      • +1

        I don't.

MS lets you swap and change regions on the fly whenever you want. Same way I got a bundle of both the Paw Patrol games from Argentina onto my Aussie account for about a third of the cost of one of them.

Hell, at the moment I have 5AUD and $0.02 USD left from the Lego card on my account, it literally doesn't even throw away your change when you swap countries anymore.

Okay. Good to know. I guess all you need is the credit for the respective store.
That will make my life easier.
If you want to write or have some info about how to swap regions/how you buy from the different stores, feel free to PM it to me. I will then include it (with your name of course) in future posts.

          • @Lysander: Nah, I'm far from the first person to do this stuff, nothing for me to take credit for.

Way I do it is just with Hola on my phone. I have no experience with VPN stuff, but Hola is a free app, has a built in browser with VPN, you just pick the country you want to pretend to be in and go.

Argentina is suuuuuuper cheap for Xbox games, and any time there's like an Argentina currency card for Xbox they always sell for jacked up prices and defeats the point, but you can buy game codes for usually pretty cheap. Example, over the last month or so me and the missus burned through the Terminator movies and I felt like replaying Terminator: Resistance. The game was still more than I wanted to spend and when it was in a decent EB sale the nearest stock was ages away, someone on eBay was selling a digital code for the game for like 21 bucks and I was like well (profanity) yeah to that. So I get it and what a shocker, it's an Argentinan code.

All I had to do was load up Hola, sign into Xbox.com via it's built in browser, click the little Argentina icon in the country section, and boom, it let me redeem the code.

A lot of times you don't even have to do that when redeeming codes, I just know they crack down on Argentina because it's soooooo much cheaper, same thing with the Brazil codes for Gold and whatnot a while back.

But yeah, as for actuallying buying USD Xbox credit, same thing. I went to a site selling them, just a quick look on Google for something reasonably priced, I bought it from them, they shot me through the code, load up Hola, $10 in the account, buy the games, all set. It should auto redirect to xbox.com/en-us instead of en-au, if not, just do that if you're not seeing the right price and Bob's your uncle.

This is my account right now for example, with the 2 cents leftover from Lego and $5 I cashed out from MS rewards a while back that's gonna expire soon, didn't mean to cash that out, still have 30 odd bucks in there which won't expire on me but now I need to find something to buy for $5 or I'm out a fiver, but that's another story, point is, you're allowed multiple currencies and all, don't be scared when / if they say you will lose any dosh you have on your account by swapping bc you clearly don't anymore https://i.postimg.cc/4fV0shdc/Screenshot-2021-06-01-13-39-38…

            • @TheDukeOfNukem: Great, thank you.
Does that all work even if a website says that your account and IP must be say, from Argentina? VPN takes care of the IP but does it have to actually be an Argentine account? This might just be bullshit by Microsoft if you have been able to buy from Argentina.

              • @Lysander: Nah, (profanity) no, you're fine mate. I'm still using the same Xbox account I made here over a decade ago, never used another one.

I got Tony Hawk preordered for around 45 AUD via a USA key for the game, the ones I mentioned before, and more that doesn't instantly come to mind, no issues on my end yet.

                • @TheDukeOfNukem: Great. Thank you for being so kind and patient with your answers.
This might open up the possibilities of some killer deals.

    • I do this. Buy US Xbox credit on US Amazon then set my Xbox to US region and buy on their store. $5 US ($6.50) sometimes for games that are $26 here. Just like you pointed out.
