I gave up on gamepass after the 3 year Wild Turkey deal ran out - and with recent price gouging, Game Over, Man! Game Over!
If a complete version of a game I am interested gets to under $20, IMO it's mostly worth considering…Mostly.

I loaded up on the telstra rewards PC gamepass 3mo cards. converted into 8mo of GPU. by that time I'll probably just be playing BF6 and GTA6 so i'll only need base tier for online.

If you add one of these PC Gamepass codes to an account that has a GPU subscription it will add about 2 months of GPU as it converts the PC Gamepass to GPU at roughly 3:2.
@QuickToThePointless: As long as you have an active GPU subscription when you add the code it converts and adds 2 months to your GPU subscription end date.
If you don't have any active subscriptions it will create a PC Gamepass subscription for you for 3 months

kinda confused i thought they were independant of each other?
Whatever active GamePass subscription you have - when you add a GamePass code to it gets added to your existing subscription.
The Telstra offer is a code for 3 months of a GamePass PC subscription
So - if you don't have any subscription active and you add a GamePass PC code - it will create a new active GamePass PC subscription on your account.
If you have an active GamePass Ultimate subscription and you add the GamePass PC code to it - it will add more time to your already active GamePass Ultimate subscription.
However, GamePass Ultimate has more functionality and is more expensive than GamePass PC and Microsoft currently have a conversion ratio of approx: 3 months GamePass PC = 2 months GamePass Ultimate
So when you add a 3 month GamePass PC code to an active GamePass Ultimate subscription your subscription is extended by 2 months.

I have actually never played it and have not purchased this deal yet - while clearly, gears of war this is not, most reviews seem to point to a pretty decent game especially if you are a fan of the franchise

I am a big fan of the franchise, I played it on gpu (free month gamesir controller).
I did one level and most of time it felt like torture. I wouldn't spend $2 on this game. It's all subjective. RoboCop gets a lot of heat for being a bad game but as a fan I Really enjoyed. Enough to get all the trophies

It could be any shooter. It feels even older than it is. Go here, do this, shoot stuff over and over. Alien is probably my favourite franchise but again.. it could have been shooting cats with water for all the theme mattered.
You'll need a coop squad to have max fun, I had 1 other player, and there are so many better pew pew games than this. Go play Helldivers 2, or Deep Rock Galactic, or Warframe if you want to shoot things, all WAY WAY better than this.
Also, games are subjective, so you may love it.

Hold on, hold on just a second. The Xbox division has a substantial dollar value invested in it. Okay, I know this is an emotional moment for all of us, okay? I know that. But let's not make snap judgments, please. This is clearly… clearly an important time for microsoft to make even more money and I don't think that you or I, or anybody, should cancel their game pass sub right now.

My wild is running out July next year. Won't renew. Also got a normal wild account that still works for cheap games. Prob just matter of time before that closes.
