  I've being buying the first generation (doesn't have a large nozzle hole so is more intense) for 6 or 7 years from eBay for $40. They used to break pretty regularly as I use mouthwash with mine and I wasn't being careful to stop it leaking underneath the button above the liquid chamber. Now that I'm more careful they tend to last a year or two.

  I had this for a while then went back to water floss type.
  What you need aware is Philips has a very tiny water tank. It blast 1-3 times every 2-3 second with small amount of water and air. It is very efective giving the amount of water it uses and that tiny tank ususally enough for single use.
  However it is still not as good as continous water jet like WaterFloss / Panasonic that cleans with large amount of water. You can imagin it like a water cannon while notmal water floss as preasure washer.
