Hi guys

saw the SAMSUNG UA75TU8000WXXY 75" CRYSTAL UHD 4K SMART TV on Bing Lee's website for $1345 which seems to be fairly cheap

they also currently have a $250 gift card promotion when you purchase a 75" or larger TV ($250 prepaid mastercard)

i also used Honey to get $20 off on one of their codes

Cashrewards also gave back $16.86. so all up it works out to be just under $1100 delivered for me

$1349 at The Good Guys without the $250 gift card
$1345 at Harvey's with no gift card

    If anyone wanted comparison

ShopBack has 2.8% cashback for bing lee. Only 1% cashback if coupon used.

    • i used cashrewards which is at 2.8% as well but got only $16.86 back. i did use a $20 coupon via Honey so i'm not sure if that knocks the cash back % down

      • Oh, you may be ineligible when using codes not listed on Cashrewards.

Only BINGLEE10 or ENTER30 listed in Cashrewards now.

        • +7

damnit. so i could've got $30 off with Enter30 and then 2.8% on top?

i have failed you ozbargain. please take away my bargain card

  • I cant access the link -

    You have been blocked.

Why this blocking? Something about the behaviour of the browser has caught our attention.

There are various possible explanations for this:
you are browsing and clicking at a speed much faster than expected of a human being
something is preventing Javascript from working on your computer
there is a robot on the same network (IP 101.161.88.18) as you
Having problems accessing the site? Contact support

    wtf?

    • I tried it and it worked for me?

But just go to Bing Lee and choose TVs. anything above 75" will have the red gift card icon beneath the price. and you can search for this tv specifically if its also the one you want

      • Yeah i just tried that, even on my phone i cant access Bing Lee.

        • that's crazy!

        • Your IP may be blocked, try using the mobile data connection.

      Crazy, right crazycs?

      • All good - works on my mobile/5G. Not sure why its blocked my current IP :S

      P-Hub =p

      turn off your vpn

  • How about this one compare with SONY 75X8000H?

    • X8000 are quantum dot panels. You need to go to Samsung Q series to get that wide colour gamut.

  • This or the 65Q8 Hisense?

    • +1

Hisense has the better Picture quality but 75 inches is 75 inches.

This is a very basic 4k TV.

      But it's also 75 inches for $1300.

Trying to get delivery to Melbourne postcode and it comes up with "There are no shipping methods available for that address"

    • Delivery to: MELBOURNE, 3000 Change
Sorry, this product is not available for delivery to this location. Please choose click and collect or browse the category for another item or enter a different delivery postcode.

    • Yea same.. I guess a 75" is too big to ship :)

  • +2

    No delivery to perth

  • For anyone wondering - great TV for the price. Quality is awesome. Pairs perfectly with my PS5, no dramas what so ever.

  • 1440p 120Hz not supported, this replace the RU8000 which had 1440p 120Hz all 2021 models are a step backward!

    • Isn't the AU8000 the 2021 replacement? TU was 2020, RU 2019 and NU before that.
But yes, this line of TV hasn't supported 120Hz at higher resolution for a while

Samsung TVs have been a step backwards since 2015-16, cut back on features and quality and drop price. If you had a Q6 the next year equivalent was Q7 then Q8 and then Q9.
Last year even the Q9 wasn't up to par and you had to either sacrifice on brightness and go to 8k TVs to get everything or settle back on features and get the 4k for better PQ…
I'm glad I'm not in the market for a new TV right that as everything seems to be price oriented and hard to get a nice balanced TV.
Hopefully in a couple of years Micro LED or Nano LED become more mainstream…

Pretty much Samsung's tactic of removing features to push you up the models

  • +1

Does this support Google home control (turn on/off, volume up/down, switch hdmi etc.) or just stream via built in chromecast. Not a big fan of remotes :)

  • Sold out already.

'Hi there, unfortunately we are completely out of stock of those throughout all stores, and are no longer getting new stock as this item is discontinued in our system.'

  • Does anyone know how much of a difference there is between this, and the 2021 AU8000 model? New one not on rtings yet.

  • Honey code and Cashrewards in the same transaction?

    • yes sir. i think it was HONEY20? but cashrewards didn't pay the full 2.8%

i'm told there is a $30 code in cashrewards that works along with the 2.8%. haven't tried though

  • is this 2020 model. is there a 2021?

  • Quick question: it says 100Hz motion rate, is it good for PS5?

    • Of all the features of this tv, why do you specifically only concentrate on the motion rate? It is not 100Hz

      • my understanding is that i need a refresh rate of at least 100hz for the games to be smooth. am i wrong?

  • Unlisted from the site.

    • ozbargained again

quite a few other TVs that qualify for the gift card are still good value though

  • What's the difference between the UA75TU and the UA75AU models? I'm looking through the features and specs and they look largely similar? Or is it just 2020 and 2021 versions lol

    • same same but slightly different design and newer software

  • Anyone have thoughts on Samsung AU8000 vs Sony X8000H?

We use a samsung currently that has Stan, Netflix, Amazon prime etc. I'd like to think most smart TV's have all those nowadays by default.

    • One of the difference is samsung can do usb recording while sony x8000 cannot (funny enough the older x7000 can)

      • Definitely not a feature I'd plan to use.

I'm actually considering the Hisense 75S8 now. Looks to be a pretty good unit.

  • I am looking so forward to update my 2018 Q7FN 65"
Does anyone have a good experience with QA75Q70AAWXXY -75 which is 200Hz?

I have an Xbox Series X so I am looking after HDMI 2.1 with at least 120Hz.
I am not sure how this Black Friday will be with this COVID messing productions all over the place.
