[PC, Steam] Civilization VI: Platinum Edition (and Other Games) US$12 or A$15.52 @ Humble Choice Bundle

250

This is from Humble Choice Bundle (which is a subscription service) so you'll need to cancel to unsubscribe if you just want this month's stuff.

Civ VI: PE is currently AUD57.38 on steam and I got it for AUD30 a while back and thought happy days so AUD15.52 with a bunch of other games make it quite nice, I think. :)

Games included:

The games are PC only and redeemable on Steam, except for Disjunction which is redeemable on GOG(possibly Steam tomorrow).

As a reminder: subscription service but you can cancel at any time

Note: Civ VI, not Civ IV (title needs updating).

Looks like I need another cup of coffee. I was even thinking to make sure that I got that right as I was typing it. :/

      Thanks. :)

  • Disjunction is a GOG key not a Steam key this month too.

      Thanks. Fixed. :)

      • Imagine being mad that your game DOESN'T have DRM in it.
Brand loyalty is such a mental illness.

        • Ok but some of us also like to keep our ~several thousand strong game library all in one place, take advantage of the overlay so I can chat with my friends, have easy access to the forum/guides, earn achievements etc.

I'm also not entirely the biggest fan of GoG/Cd Project anymore ever since they joined in on that ass kissing bandwagon of bowing down to china by removing Devotion from their store for no reason.

          • @Stoibs: There is literally nothing stopping you from importing GOG games into Steam for all those features.
GOG galaxy even supports Steam achievements. Galaxy even has artwork for Steam games that Steam doesn't even have, making it the more complete frontend.

Also Devotion got pulled from Steam too.

Civilization VI Platinum Edition is worth it alone. It is currently on sale at Steam at -73% off and it costs $36.78, the two large expansions in the Steam sale cost over $13 each.

I have the base game but neither of the expansions, I'm getting this.

    • Curious. Where do you see it for $36? Looking at the page now and it says $57 for the PE. Even after logging in.

      • Hmm, maybe because I own the base game and some DLC they cheapen it for me, as they are greyed out on the site for me? Makes the Humble Bundle deal even better then.

  • damn, paid double last month…

If anyone took the 6 months for $6 USD a month deal in December, you can use it for this month as well if you use it in the next few days.

They haven't changed it to reflect the new release date of HB Choice.

Worth the $7.92 AUD for this month :)

  • Anyone who's been at Humble Monthly for a few years, this is another dupe, albeit without the DLC.

Civ VI was given away for free on Epic, and was also included in a Humble Monthly Bundle back in Feb 2018. This includes some extra DLC, but still not all of it.

Almost everything else in this bundle is either shovelware or is an online Battle Royale game that should be free to play.

    Very poor value this month.

It's all the DLC minus New Frontier. Definitely worth it, even before considering any of the other games.

Also, Epic Games Store Civ doesn't run on Mac - this does.

Civ VI was given away for free on Epic

Not free at the moment, though and who knows if/when it will be again.

This includes some extra DLC, but still not all of it.

Most of the DLCs, including the two big ones, each of which costs almost as much as the bundle right now (AUD13) and way more when they're not discounted (AUD40 and AUD55).

So for Civ VI, even if you have the base game, it's IMO worth it.

My first pause in 8 months

Great for any civ6 owners without the dlc or those rusted on civ5 players out there..

  • So based on the people posting in here, Civ 6 is crap without tonnes of DLC. Didn't realise it was an EA game…

    • 2k, not ea

    • Where did you get that?

      • Everyone says it's worth it just for the DLC.

Not one person mentioned the game is good without the DLC.

This suggests the base game is junk, and you need to spend as much again (or more) than the base game on extra DLC - which is exactly what EA does.

        • Not one person mentioned the game is good without the DLC.

The base game is 5 years old.

The developers have moved on through 2 major updates over 5 years.

This suggests the base game is junk

It suggests that everyone else has moved on and is living in 2021 rather than 2016.

          Perhaps you should move on.

Move on, friend. Join us in 2021.

I would suspect that most people that like Civilization type games might own the base game already considering it was released 5 years ago and especially since it was given away free in the past. As this deal includes the two main expansions and the majority of DLC, it is still worthwhile to purchase this Platinum Edition, even if you have the base game.

I did state earlier "Civilization VI Platinum Edition is worth it alone" and "I have the base game but neither of the expansions, I'm getting this" as way to show the value in this bundle. the discombobulated panda stated "So for Civ VI, even if you have the base game, it's IMO worth it." and in no way does that imply the base game is bad, just that the value here is good.

If you don't like the look of Civ VI, this deal doesn't look good, if you do, the Platinum Edition is worth it alone, even if you own the base Civ VI game already.

  • I'm getting a price of $17.99AU?? Is that a re-subscribe price?

  • Well that was a fun 6 months at 6 USD, how can Humble/IGN think that someone would get used to US$6/pm and consider US$12/m a good deal?
Maybe they thought we would forget about the auto renewal, but if you are like me and pausing every month, you will notice the difference.

I know it is a meme to say that Humble Monthly isn't as good as it was pre-IGN, but it isn't. The full year since the change to Choice I got 2/12, I have only gotten the first 6 months of this year because of the price and I wouldn't have gotten all of them had it not been required to keep the discount. There is no way that full price payers weren't getting less as a result of the $6 deal.

  • Hey does anybody want to buy my humble bundle classic subscription? It's grandfathered and has 10 picks every month. I just do not every play anywhere near enough of the games and think it would be a shame for the subscription to go to waste

If I like one of the games, I get the bundle and I donate spare keys to my nephews, they seem to appreciate it.

      • +1

Thanks. You reminded me that I have many humble bundle dupes and a game-compatible nephew.

        Muahahahahaha! :)
