No doubt this is price matching Rebel Sport if people prefer to not use Amazon:

I have been debating whether to buy a smartwatch for some time and I had decided I wanted a Garmin but was never interested in the Venu because of the high price. I was looking at getting the Vivoactive 4 or 4s but now the Venu is in the same price range I decided to buy one.

This has been cheaper in the past coming from Amazon UK via Amazon AU, but not for a while. This is still a good price as the retail price is $650.

  • Just checked camelx3 history and this has never sold for RRP on Amazon.

Recent prices have been around $500-$550…

Can vouch for the watch at this price. My only gripe is sometimes notifications are delayed. Everything else, especially tracking exercise has been great (only running).

    • How long is the delay?

Never had an issue, personally. Could be their phone?

      • +1

As long as it took me to reply. /s

Sometimes it would be a couple of minutes. I would suspect it's how my phone handles the communication with the device as @jetblack suggests. However, the delays are maybe 2% of the total notifications.

This is a good price. I bought one for my wife and I have the vivoactive 3 for myself. Venu's display is similar to an apple watch, vivid crisp and i think only the Venu line up has that display. the downside is, the glass is very prone to scratches since it sits higher than the bezel. putting on a screen protector is very difficult if not impossible since the glass is curved. Vivoactive does not have this problem since the glass is recessed.

Good price for a good watch. Nice and bright even in the sun with sunglasses on runs. No cadence locking at all on hill climbs and decent gps tracking. Battery life pretty good even with everything turned up high. I use apple watch during the day and this venu for runs and sports and sleep monitoring (plus its ok as smartwatch if travelling light)

Get the forerunner 935 at $370 on Amazon if you use it for running or any other sport. Much better tracking for sport and longer battery life too.

    • I probably would have got that if it had music storage. That was one requirement I wanted for a smartwatch so I don't have to take my phone for running.

    • Is it a significant improvement? the music thing is pretty cool if only marginal

  • I wonder if JBHiFi will price match, as I have some gift vouchers,

Any comments on this watch vs vivoactive 4 ?

    • I think the watches are very similar from what I have read but the Venu has a much better screen. I noticed the sale price at Rebel Sport ends today so no doubt Amazon do the same.

      Comparison of the 2.

Vivoactive comes in 40mm (4s) size and 45mm size. The Venu is in between at 43mm.

Vivoactive has slightly better battery life because not using an amoled screen.

      Maybe some other slight differences.

  • Office works has the same price

  • This is still just an Android smartwatch right? How long does the battery last?

    • I'm not sure if the OS is Android based but it definitely has an Android app to connect with your phone.

Battery life is apparently up to 5 days without GPS and music running.

And only 6 hours with GPS and music running.

    • I charge mine every 4-5 days. I have the standard watch face, as I found just about every other face drained it noticeably quicker (at a guess I'd say 20% quicker)

I use mine to track my runs and I'm always off by about 0.3km on what I know to be a 5km run, so that's pretty annoying. Checking strava data from other runners of the same course, I notice their (mostly garmin, but not venu) watches are pretty bang on.

That said I don't take my runs too seriously so for me 'pretty damn close but not bang on' is plenty good for my needs
