      If the author is any good at all, they'll be talking about you giving yourself permission to fail, which so many people fail to do (no pun intended).

    If this book is referring to the traditional 'Penny pinching' approach then 'Save money and retire a millionaire' has got to be one of the biggest oxymorons out there. No one I know became a millionaire by not drinking coffee and/or using coupons or the digital equivalents such as cashrewards/shopbacks.

    Becoming a millionaire requires a macro approach (zoomed out/high level) to finances/investing vehicles and wealth creation

      …And a lot of luck. No one acknowledges the survivorship bias inherent in getting rich when they tell you the stories of how all those millionaires worked hard. It's necessary but not sufficient. Plenty of people work hard. Some of them are even ruthless and connected.

      The truth is while I'd like enough money not to have to work for a living I don't know anyone ultra-rich who I am envious of. Their lives all seem to suck.

    I can't remember what TV show it was, only it was a long time ago. The protagonist of the show buys a book about something like 1 million ways to make a dollar and a one way to make a million dollars. The only way to make a million was to write a book about 1 million ways to make a dollar and a one way to make a million dollars.
