    Wow, seems very pricey
    $1900 for the full kit

    • I haven't checked shipping costs recently but the last time I did, it costs >$2000 for the full kit to be imported.

It may be cheaper now but this should come with Aussie warranty which is great, seeing as there aren't that many replacement parts available.

    Direct Links with Prices

Took over 2 years to get it to Australia (Release date: 28 June 2019).

  • that includes 30 lives for Contra?

  • Glad to see it's finally here.

Sad to see it's not yet cheap enough to tempt most of the people who want one.

But they had issues with the silicon shortage (Microsoft and Apple bought the entire 12 month supply of some of the Index's key components early in the pandemic, Gabe was saying).

    Baby steps, I guess.

    • But they had issues with the silicon shortage

Nothing to do with the price given it hasn't changed over time.

Pretty weird you can preorder from EB but not steam.

Come on Valve, your entire business model was cutting out all the middle men, a problem that's even worse in Australia, since there's more of them between you and us overcharging for adding zero value.

What do you think Steam is?

This is super high end gear. For most, there's no reason to pick it over the Oculus 2 for $479. I have mine hooked up to my PC and it's great

    • This is just incorrect, the Index is higher quality.

The need install base stations is a hard pass for me. When others can do inside-out tracking, then why can't Valve's pricey kit do it? I think I'm going to wait for the PSVR gen 2, which will hopefully be more reasonably priced.

Isn't this like 2 years old by now?

  • I can't see any mention of the Valve Index on the ebgames website now, have they taken it down?
Did anyone end up ordering one?

    • Collected today. I think they've taken it down
