        • I have had it arrive yet -Im not adding a second stick im replacing both with some crucial CT2K16G4SFRA32A (2x16GB sticks) should arrive in two weeks though.

          Are you in melbourne?

          • @Franc-T: Yes i am in Melbourne

            • @alphawolf: Coolies, ill have a spare 8GB stick when I get my replacement ram in a few weeks from us

              • @Franc-T: Thanks mate. . I have already ordered an identical SK Hynix 8GB stick. .

                • @alphawolf: Oh, coolies then.

                • +1

@UserNotaBotIPromise: All good, need for the replacement memory to arrive first!

                  • @Franc-T: All good, I have since bought some. It turns out my ram was different from everyone elses for some reason (Micron ram). Cheers though :) the sentiment is appreciated

                    • @UserNotaBotIPromise: Just as well, the 32GB of crucial memory I got was faulty (I bought it specifically as crucial's site listed it was compatible) now I have to return it to the US :( Sigh

                    • @UserNotaBotIPromise: Hi, I got Micron too. Which model RAM did you get to be compatible?

        • Just a followup, the ram that I got didnt work (Well it did for like 10 hours then failed) - the ram was a bad batch though was 100% compatibile on crucials' site (you can put in the model to check).

I ordered the ram from Amazon and it came from US. The packet was a bit shitty I suspect it was returned previously.

          • @Franc-T: Ended up buying HyperXHX432S20IBK2/32 kit (2x16) works fine though 32GB is overkill, more than my 3070 main gaming machine lol

From what research I did online the Acer Nitro is the best budget gaming laptop.

The Asus Tuf is made of worse quality plastic with more flex/cheapness and the keyboard apparently stops working for quite a few negative reviews that points to poor QC.

The Dell G3/G5 that comes up here always has a lot of negative comments and had a class action lawsuit against it's insufficient cooling in the states so they are just dumping their stock in other markets.

      • Just ran timespy on mine for those who are intrested and the score was 6227 with 32MB of memory (And additonal HDDs and SSDs) and sitting on a laptop cooler.

Just picked one up today. Price is quite good for what you get, easy to throw in another 8GB RAM.

Hopefully no issue claiming the $150 gift voucher.

  • Hi guys, complete and utter noob here. I want to do some upgrades to this lappy. I don't suppose anyone knows if a standard 2.5 inch HDD will fit? Or this RAM (SK HYNIX 8G PC4 3200 DDR4 SODIMM Laptop RAM 1Rx8 PC4-3200AA-SA2-11)?

  • Anyone with this laptop and 3060 to test a program for me?
