has anyone got ANY idea how i can set the fan speed to 1 and heat turned on WITHOUT it ramping up its fan speed automatically by itself constantly?
I want to use it for babies bedroom but it gets so loud so suddenly that it wakes the baby up. I've tried everything and dyson support were useless.
Use remote and switch of the "auto mode"
Also turn on "night mode"
Unfortunately that's how they work, i do wish they were a little quieter. Eventually the baby will be used to it I guess.
I actually don't think you can. It is programed to heat up as quickly as possible. It will only stop/slow down when it reaches the desired temperature, and by then, the air coming out will be room temp, not hot anymore.
You are better off getting a second hand Vulcan heater. We got TANGI 24 for $10. Opened, cleaned. There was quite a bit of lint on the rotating drum, don't know how it got there… Anyway, when set to 1 it is very quiet and is not much louder on 2 and 3. No problem with babies. Sound asleep.
On another note, would never buy Dyson, if only to look unusual, so guests have something to talk about. Too expensive for what it does.

It means it cant be run on a standard australian power point; you need 15A uprated circuits.
What a stupid design!
Either your power meter is broken or the circuit breakers in your house are. Power is only rated to 2400w and would trip the breaker if you go over

Are you sure that's right? It would be drawing 13.5A meaning it would need to be wired to a 15A plug.
How often do you need to change the filter and will the machine let you keep using it if it wants to be changed?
