Gun metal @ $99

HyperX™ Cloud II features a redesigned USB sound card audio control box that amplifies audio and voice for an optimal Hi-Fi gaming experience, so you can hear what you’ve been missing. Open up a world of detail other gamers will never know — the rustle of a camper’s boot, the scuttle in a distant vent. Its independent audio and microphone volume control lets you adjust not only sound volume but also mic volume and easily toggle Surround Sound 7.1 or the mic sound on and off.

This next-generation headset generates virtual 7.1 surround sound (enabled through USB audio control box) with distance and depth to enhance your gaming, movie or music experience. Pinpoint your opponents’ location in the game and strike before he sees you coming. It is hardware driven and plug and play, with no driver needed.

The Cloud II has a digitally enhanced, noise-cancelling microphone with automatic gain control functionality and echo cancellation enabled through the USB sound card. The result is clearer voice quality and reduced background noise, with voice volume automatically increasing as in-game sound gets louder, to optimize team communication and in-game chat in intense battles.

HyperX Cloud II is Hi-Fi capable, with 53mm drivers for superior audio performance and rich sound quality with crystal-clear low, mid and high tones and enhanced bass via the sound card. Its closed cup design helps with noise cancellation so players can obliterate the enemy in peace.

The Cloud II comes in two colors – Gun Metal and Red.

Good sound but earcups start disintegrating in about a year’s time.

I'm using the breathable fabric cups and no issues with me after 3+ years. Sooooo comfortable.

Are the fabric ear pads included?

Yes, from experience and from the page:

"HyperX Cloud II comes with 100% memory foam ear pads and interchangeable ear cups for varying sound profiles and different texture options."

Using the fabric ones is the way to go although they are a little fiddly to change over.

Better off waiting for Cloud Alpha to go on sale. Hits ~$130 every few months.

Cloud Alpha is better sound quality than Cloud II (supposedly, I've only used Cloud Alpha's), but also have detachable/replaceable microphone AND cord. Given kids and accidents generally lead to either or both of these getting broken, this has been a huge benefit.

I've got these headsets and loved them but the cable has warped over the last ~5 years to the point that they cut out regularly. I'll look at the Alphas.
