Thanks OP. At this price I grabbed 3.

  • What’s the lowest ever?

  • Clearnace item, it's $6,150 at GG, you could prob get them to knock some more off too, if you want to buy from local.

    • I don’t see this product to be available in GG. Can you share product id or link to the same?

      • Apologies, I meant HN and price $6,115

        • Ah. HN don’t have any stock available in VIC 🙁

          • @adilaksh: Includes delivery and a wall mount, if no stock available at your local store. Ask them for a deal online.

            • @eggaz: Yeah, but it is $6050 delivered by Applicance Central.

If HN had local stock, I would have done price beat and placed order in store.

              • +1

@adilaksh: Ask HN for an online price beat via chat, with delivery and wall mount?

                • @eggaz: Sure. Will try, thanks.

                  • +1

@adilaksh: I initiated a chat with them last night.

Hello, you're chatting with Jayjay, $5800 is the best we can offer for the LG 77-inch CX Cinema Series 4K UHD Self-lit OLED Smart TV Ai ThinQ

  • Such a great bargain.

    • Yeah they do seconds only I'm pretty sure

DO NOT BUY FROM P AND S ELECTRONICS!!
Bought A tv from them once advertised as new. Took it home to find out it was damaged (glow on side of tv), and a factory second.
P and s would only offer to replace the tv with a similar priced model or wait (for who knows how long) for the same tv to come in again as a factory second.
They refused to give me a refund and the worker at the shop was a a**hole.
Ended up taking the tv back, contacting ACCC and they got them to refund me after a very long, frustrating, time.
ACCC also informed me they have had previous problems with the store with misleading advertisements.
Made an account just to post this, don't buy from those idiots.

Thank you so much! You saved me from an impulse buy that I would have regretted.

        Welcome to the fold

  • Nice, if I hadn't purchased the CX 65" two or three months ago, I would probably have bitten on this. Still a lot of coin compared with LED pricing at this size but OLED truly is excellent.

    • How do you find it during the day with alot of day light?

      • +3

I have the LG C9 65 and was also concerned about the daylight glare on the reflective screen. The TV has not disapointed me in any way, shape or form.

  • -8

i would be interested if it was $600

  • +1

C1 is replacing the CX. Personally I would prefer to spend $1k-$2k less on the G1 65 inch screen. G1 is better than C1 as it uses the new OLED panel with better brightness.

    • +1

C1 uses the new Evo panels too, and if you have the service remote you can make it into a G1 so same brightness etc

      • but how to get access to the service remote?

          • @FeZZa21: I don’t have a C1 yet but I am contemplating if I should get a C1, G1 (brighter) or runout stock CX (cheaper). Now I’ve learned that the C1 can actually tweaked to the brightness of G1 from your comment, then I’m definitely leaning towards a C1.

I am really tempted to get the 77”, but waiting the C1 77” to drop in price may need to wait until the end of year.

            • @FrugalNotStingy: yeah I'm holding out for the 77 C1 as well, someone on whirlpool got it for 6800, pretty sure it'll drop to below 6k around sales time

              • @FeZZa21: Seems like prices are trickling down, the 77C1 is now $6880 Delivered @ Videopro.

              • @FeZZa21: Any idea what is the cheapest price someone got for a 77” G1?

                • @FrugalNotStingy: Good Guys had it for $7,645 during their JUNE10 promo. Not sure if that's the cheapest it's been, but it's the cheapest I've seen.
I reckon if you called them and asked for that price again you'd get it.
If you need a screenshot of that price DM me.

            • @FrugalNotStingy: Bing Lee have the C1 77" for $6,995. 3.5% on CashRewards will bring that down to approx. $6,775 by my calculations. They also seem to have less egregious shipping compared to Appliances Online (also free for some areas).

      • +5

You had me interested so I did some checks on this and found a lot of subsequent analysis - while it is true the service menu does this - the C1 not designed for the additional brightness and can overheat the panel. The subsequent tests also show the G1 has proper pink filter for the brightness where the C1 does not. It also tells the TV it has better speakers than it has (G1has better speakers) and sound can go a bit funny

It also can void warranty, reduce the life of the panel and software updates can go awry.

While it’s tempting to save money it seems like the other costs are not worth it

    • Where is the G1 less than the C1?

      • +2

I think he meant he’d rather downsize to a 65” G1 than get a 77” CX as the G1 has a brighter panel.

        • I see. Some reviews I have watched Vincent Teoh etc suggest 300ish nits is not noticeable in real life

          • +1

@casho: It is noticeable if you have a bright room but not really noticeable in a dark room yep. A bit like how iPhone has a higher brightness in the sun.

        • @frugalnotstingy Yep and it’s 2021 Web OS 6 which will get software updates longer and better sound etc. but the crux of it is yeah I’d rather the quality over the size and save a bit of money too!! Somebody claimed they got the G1 for $3595 65inch - that’s a hell of a deal.

  • -6

3k by years end, 2k in sales this time next year…

  • I got My G1 65 for 3595 from GG last week when they had extra 10% off , its all about talking to them

  • Whats the best price people are able to get the 77" model for, my local hn quoted $5800 incl del and install.

    • CX or C1? I went in yesterday and they didn't have any CX and didn't seem like they wanted to move much at all on the C1

      • My bad, it was for the CX 77".

        • Ok, they didn't have any left in Melbourne, or at least that's what they told me. I went to JB and HN.

          • @F-22: Any idea what is a good price for a GX 77"? and whether it's worth the extra over the CX 77"?

            • @chew_chew: The Gs seem to be about 1k more than the Cs. With last year's model the only real difference was the thickness. This year's model the G has a better panel.

              • @F-22: Is 1k the RRP difference?

If the 77cx can be had for 5800, how much is a good deal for a 77gx?

                Cheers.

                • @chew_chew: Yeah, RRP. Not sure havent tried GX. Have heard people getting CX for mid 5s but thats it.

Managed to get the OLED77CXPTA for $5,500 incl delivery and installation at HN Moore Park
