[Unobtainable Deal] First Responders - 30% off Storewide in-Store, Excludes Gift Cards, Rain Checks, Lay-Bys and Clearance @ BCF

Moved to Forum: Original Link

ONE DAY ONLY. IN-STORE ONLY.

Will update this deal as more information comes to hand. Likely be the same deal as last year.

THANK YOU - FIRST RESPONDERS

As a way of showing our appreciation to the men and women who serve us during these difficult times we are offering 30% off regular price in-store as part of the first responders day.

This offer is only available to First Responders. First responders include medical and health workers including doctors, nurses, paramedics, and ambulance staff, policemen and women. All Australia defence force personnel and SES volunteers.

We are also extending the offer to firefighters, as an acknowledgment of their work during the Australian Bushfires.

We ask that First Responders bring a photo ID that shows their work identity. Alternatively, they can shop in their work uniform.

Offer available for 1 day only, 25th June 2020. Store stock only. Excludes the purchase of gift cards, rain checks, lay-bys and clearance. Not available in conjunction with any other offer. Regular retail limits apply.

Note that this deal will be available on Thursday 24th June this year. Check your local store for trading hours.

Mod: The deal was changed from 30% off Storewide to Spend $70 Save $20, Spend $150 Save $50, Spend $300 Save $100, which is significantly different (worse) than what the original post/votes and comments were based on. The deal has therefore been reverted and moved to the forum as unobtainable. The OP/anyone can repost the new deal (Spend $70 Save $20, Spend $150 Save $50, Spend $300 Save $100) if they wish however.

So it's not 30% off sale prices?

    • +4

Unfortunately not, mate. Not available in conjunction with any other offer, so it'd be 30% or the current sale price, whichever is greatest discount.

But it'd probably be a great time to get into an Engel, Dometic, or Weber for a good price. Don't forget your discount gift cards! :)

      • ah it's not 30% anymore.

I think it's noble to give volunteers a discount, but this is mostly imported seppo garbage.

    • Other than the CFA who else are volunteers?

      • +2

Many others. Some of SES for a start: https://www.ses.nsw.gov.au/volunteer/

        • +2

There are some paid admin/control positions, but pretty much all of the operational SES members are volunteers.

the discount is not that much anyway considering how overpriced BCF is. i was looking for some outdoorsy stuff a month or two ago and i checked BCF because why not, never shopped there, maybe they had some deals. nope. they were among the most expensive stores i checked, even compared to brick and mortar stores. i vaguely recall that they were actually the most expensive place i checked, but i'm not sure so i will leave it as among the most expensive.

      • I guess it depends what you're looking for.

I.e. a Weber Family Q3100 goes from $789 to $552.30, plus if you can get a hold of 10% discounted BCF gift cards… Enjoy your big Weber for $497.07.

Weber will NEVER be that cheap at BCF for any other time of the year. I challenge you to find it cheaper! Haha. All good though, mate. To each their own, but if you're after something like above, it's totally a damn good deal.

Edit: as for the expensive prices, we do have a price match policy. Any valid Aussie retailer, excluding marketplaces (catch, ebay, etc).

        • This is misleading! Only $100 max discount!

Any chance you can make this work online, some first respondents work on weekends.

    • +1

Offer is available on THURSDAY 24th June. In-store only.

      • Makes it even harder - can it be done online ?

        • Unfortunately no. ID or wearing of work uniform required to verify that you are a First Responder.

      • The club pricing seems to be everyday pricing if you’re a member. Looking at a gazebo and there doesn’t seem to be any deal here by taking 30% off the rrp. I don’t get how a special 1 day discount for first responders can be more expensive on so many items?

  • 30% off their club price or the non-club price?

    • +1

Non club, as club price is an offer

  • Can you price match and then use the 30% off as the pricematch is not an offer but a price guarantee?

    • Please speak the the friendly management team in your local store.
Personally, I would honour only if the competitors REGULAR PRICE is cheaper than BCF. So it would be 30% off the competitors regular price.
Competitors sale price would be classed as an offer.

      YMMV.

Has there been any official communications or media surrounding this? The website seems to relate to 2020's first responder's day.

Called my local store, confirmed it’s happening this Thursday

      • Updated the post with the OFFICIAL offer.

        • Dude I spoke to today said it’s going to be 30% off?

          • @bloom: Technically he is right, but it will be capped at $100 discount this year.
Spend $300 and get $100 off is ~33% saving.

  • Apparently it’s 20% off only

Updated this post to reflect what the ACTUAL offer will be this year.
Unfortunately no where near as good as last years offer.

    • Now my >$1000 worth of Him gift card could only get $100 back on an Engel? The club discount is more than that! Great job for ruin a first responder's day!

    • If we spend $600 do we save $200 or is it capped at the max $100 saving?

      • Capped at $100

  • Agree 100% shocking deal!

Complete slap in the face IMO.

  • Wow I’m so disappointed. I had purchased gift cards to buy a Weber to find out the deal was amended and now excluding Weber…
