  • What's the shipping cost page?

  • OP - How much do you charge? Where are the rates? Can't see a deal here.

  • These rates are cheap, just matter of quality of processing and shipping standards - can't comment on those.
Definitely cheaper rates than what I got at MYUS.com

I would be worried about volumetric weight however.
MyUS Charges based on TRUE weight only - that means you can get a gigantic stupid box and get away with $$.

    • +1

You are right, I would worry about the volumetric weight too.

The other value-added services we provide is the repacking service.

Is available for packages from all warehouses if the package has more than 2kg difference between the actual weight and volumetric weight, we will automatically repacked unless it compromises on the safety of the packages.

So we do try to help customer save when possible :)

    • It’s an expanded version of what shopmate offers
(Shopmate is auspost reselling this singpost product)

Damn won't ship out of china:

    • Seditious and treasonable materials
    • Night Vision / Infra-Red Goggles and Binoculars
    • All types of videotapes, video compact discs, digital video discs, laserdiscs, records or cassettes
    • Laser apparatus such as laser pointers that are found to have emission powers

Can't plan a revolution while perving on the neighbour's or have my own 1 person rave.
Looks like is the normal economic/restricted item exclusion list. That's a shame need more graphite slurry & was very expensive to get a small bottle due to this last time oh well.

  • Is it normal that a 3kg item cost $60+ to ship from USA? that seems hella expensive…

    • +2

I have not sent a lot from the US, but these seem pretty good rates.

      Hi Koipanda,

It really depends on what you are buying.

Recently, I bought a limited edition Disney item to ship from USA to Australia as it's not available except in US disney; hence it was well worth the shipping cost.

I also got a Dell laptop from UK Dell, and it still cost lesser with the shipping fee as UK Dell had great promotion then.

So my advice is to hunt for deals or buy would you feel is worth the value. :)

Shopmate is a singpost service resold by auspost.
Even the pricing page is exactly same format as shopmate
These are clearly the same product I would avoid at all costs. Shopmate / singpost advertises decent rates then when parcels arrive they sting you with repacking charges when parcels don’t actually get re-packed, they only allow consolidation from same retailer but when parcels arrive from same retailer they record them differently so you can’t consolidate unless you wait weeks for a reply which eats into your free storage time.

This is an expanded version of what shopmate offers and is going to have all the same issues.
Even if it’s priced less you can expect to get stung in the long term.
(Rates seem to be exactly same give or take 5-10%)
    Hard no from me.

    • Hi Jimbobaus, I have to correct you there.

      • Firstly we are not a service resold by auspost neither are we an expansion of shopmate. vPost has been operation much longer than shopmate and has only launch in Australia in June 2021
      • Our pricing model is base on our our industry standard
      • Shopmate only offered shipping from the USA to Australia while we offer 9 countries where members can shop from
      • The repacking is only to help save on unnecessary shipping fee. For package with more than 2kg difference between the actual weight and volumetric weight, it will be automatically be repacked by vPost unless it compromises on the safety of the packages.

Here's more information for your understanding https://vpost.com/au/faq/package-at-warehouse/

I did not say you were, i said that the Shopmate is a product sold by Auspost which is a resale of SingPost

its clear they are the same product, a comparison of the pricing pages show they are exactly the same
Even the "products" and "weights" are the same on both pages

This is the exact speel given on the Shopmate page
I satnd by my comments, Singpost offer this service but almost always expect you to repack so they can make more money. I paid for repacking twice and in both instances the items arrived and they were not repacked

Oh and look…. Addresses on Shopmate and vPost are exactly the same.
This is the service being sold by Auspost but cutting out the middle man…. Shopmate reviews stand.
Its the same product and i would not touch it given how bad it is

        you mean re-launch.
i used vPost Aus between 2009 and 2014.
mostly positive experience, although they were difficult to deal with when they lost one of my parcels and insisted on sending me a bank draft instead of to my credit card.

        • Hi tdw,

Thanks for highlighting. After going through some history lesson from my boss. Yes, it seem vPost was in Australia some years back. So we are back in Australia i guess. This time with more value-added services to offer :)

Sorry to hear about your lost parcel. We are constantly making improvement to our operation processes as to make it a positive experience for our users. Do hope you will try us out again.

  • How do you handle charges like GST and duty?

    • Each time customer check out a vPost Australia parcel and declare the value of the goods, customer will be asked to provide payment for the vPost Australia shipping and the applicable GST all in the same transaction. The rate of GST is 10%. This is in order to comply with Australian Tax Office requirements, vPost AU will in term need to submit the merchant's invoice and the tax payment to Australian Tax Office.

You can find out more detail on payment here: https://vpost.com/au/faq/payment/

      :)
