Powerline Recommendations (with Wi-Fi Option)

Hi,

I’m looking to replace a Netgear powerline adapter which is used to get Ethernet upstairs.

What are fellow OzBargainers using and is there any that also can provide wifi at the other end?

Cheers!

  • Netgear one works alright

    • I like Netgear products, this one that died was about 5yrs old.

powerline can be hit or miss depending on your house's electrical wiring. Replacing your existing Netgear adapter may or may make a difference to performance.

In my scenario I'm getting very good performance with my TPLink TL-PA9020P KIT since the wiring in my house is fairly decent and it's not bottlenecking my NBN50 connection.

You might want to look at the TL-WPA8631P KIT which will give you AC1200 Wi-Fi on the other end. It is very expensive though at $200 AUD.

The other alternative is to buy a mesh router system. Example

    • Powerline was working until the unit died. so im all good being on the same circuit.

re Mesh, im not sure if this would work as there is a alfresco tin roof between the router location and the upstairs PC/
