Any idea of a distributor that can work properly with 58.5mm (as opposed to 58)?

    • I looked into a few of these and found that Aliexpress was the only place that had any listed as 58.X mm (mostly 58.3mm). I bought one and it ended up being the standard 58mm but YMMV! Still works great though, no complaints.

      • Thanks!

      • This just happened to me. I bought this 51mm one but what came in the box was a 58mm one, even though the box label says 51mm. Have to return it now :(

    • Im using one which is slightly off, I just do it twice and that seems to solve the crumbs left behind.

      • Thanks!

Got one of these. It's excellent

  • Thanks OP, looked at these when the 58mm went on special. Will look again!

  • Got the 58mm one solid piece of kit. It’s all steel and it’s weighty! Wasn’t expecting that with the price.

  • I literally bought this exact product the other day and had to return it because it measured in at closer to 56mm and did not fit my 51mm basket. Not sure if I got the wrong product but just something to be aware of

  • Got the Matow 58mm tamp/distributor from same at Amazon.
The distributor side isn't 58mm, try something like 48mm or so

The tamp side was ok, but also very loose in the 58mm Breville dual boiler handle

    • I have the same machine but I don't find it to be any smaller that the stock tamper diameter.

  • I bought the 58mm a few days ago for $36. Highly recommend it. One of the most difficult variables to practice when it comes to coffee, is tamping. With this tool you get the right pressure every time if you correctly set the height.

  • Excuse the ignorance but what size suits a Breville BES920 ?
    And
Why is it better than the included tamper?

Keen to improve our coffee experience but really dont know much about it …yet…(single shot espresso)

I bought the 58mm one. Why is it better? For 3 reasons:

      • Evenly spread the coffee using the distributor side
      • Consistent pressure when tamping: one of very important variables to get it right
      • A level puck. When you use the stock tamper, you might not get the level right, which could lead to channeling
