With Our Exchange Rate with The US So High at The Moment, Any Deals to Take Advantage of?

AUD/USD exchange rate is pretty high for us. Obviously we can't travel there for leisure, but is there anything we can buy or any good deals of late that we can take advantage of?

Thanks!

Isn't 75c USD per AUD pretty much the standard of the last few years? I don't see anything special compared the the fun years back in the early 2010's when it was over $1.

    • It's about the highest it's been in about 3.5 years

But yes I agree, it's nothing spectacular.

    • Bought and sold many things from the us during this excellent time.

    • Ohhh 1:1 was the best.

Nah 1:1.1 was the best! Was travelling in the states and when it was $1.10 you could buy things and it was actually cheaper in AUD even after paying the sales tax

        • I remember when it was 1.1 and I was travelling in San Fran then Hawaii and it was dropping. I got to Hawaii and pre paid all my rooms, the staff thought I was crazy. dropped to 1 when I left

          • @djones145: Should've bought property in the states then.

            win

            • @Binge: Should’ve bought property ANYWHERE then.

FTFY - house prices in Sydney have increased 80% since then…

        • I got 4 tyres delivered in less than 5 days from the US for under $1k. They cost $2800 here. those were the days.

  • At around 75c, you're not going to find too many cracking bargains.

After years of carry on, I've found the prices for many goods available in Australia have effectively "harmonised" at around this price, especially once shipping ability and prices have been included.

I'm sure there's stuff out there, but from my experience not much of it is what you'd call "mainstream".

  • maybe Amazon US with Prime (free shipping over $49)

  • Buy assets that appreciate in value. Higher inflation is coming. Don't be the last one to do something about it.

    • Any stock recommendations?
