    Purchased thanks!

  • It's that time of the year again
When the Scotch bargains come out.

Still trying to get through last year's batches.

  • Got!

Noone drink this ? Just to collect? How is the taste? Good for beginners?

    • hmm to collect, i think it’s like wine, don’t buy it unless you’d be willing to drink it if the price doesn’t go up as expected (grange and a few others wines are exceptions if you have a top vintage or vintages people want to make sets complete). the price drop on this makes it affordable enough to drink.

wonder what the Gilligans Island limited edition rum is worth now , or the Hogans Heroes Whisky I invested in and if it will cover my dogs coin losses.

      • @ChiMot I got one for my collection yes, doubt there will be a special occasion anytime soon to crack it open.
@garagesale it's close to half price (which im sure full price is including GoT marketing), so can't complain to have the most expensive one of the set as my first (going to collect them all one by one as my pocket allows).
and also you must have meant Doge coin :)

I doubt it, I had to select a pickup store near me. Just put in your postcode and see if it's available near you, wherever that is.

ah yes apologies deeply Sir… found but only pickup available not sure why the store isnt that far

Same…will pickup once back in Sydney on the weekend assuming no restrictions by then! Bought quite a few GOT whiskys but not tried any yet… Too many cheaper ones to get through - being limited runs I assume they might be a collectable…no rush to drink but better that way :)

      • yeah… lockdown LOL maybe, maybe not. I live in the thick of it, my pickup may have to wait several days. Very keen to try this. One is for a gift, other for me. I'm not going to wait. It sounds very dense and complicated. Hope you get home no probs.

  • No stocks in western suburb of melb.

    • Nor in northern Sydney.

Got two bottles. Mortlach is a very good whisky and a 15YO one for $99 is a dam good price. I remember years ago I picked up a bottle of Gordon and Macphail 15YO Mortlach for $80 which is a great drop (this was back before whisky went nuts and you could easily get a bottle of Yamasaki 12YO for $80-100)

Fun fact: Mortlach is a big supplier of one of the single malts that make up the blends in Johnny Walker whiskies

  • Not sure why the post is made out of stock, i can still see stock on some suburbs:
Eg when checked with 2000 postcode for Sydney. 2028, 2040, 2068 for eg.

  • This won't be collectable. Some of the GoT whiskys are just regular ones with different branding, some are special expressions, it's a real mix. Most are pretty common too, my local corner store even stocks them, so rarity isn't a factor. If you got the complete set of 9 bottles then I guess it might be worth something one day, but I can't see anyone making a mint out of these.

I would have bought this one simply because it's a good whisky at a great price, but sadly OOS at all my local Dans.

  • OOS - nobody hold the door for us

    • There's a few left in Leichhardt store.
