I would get one of this if it was 100 gr lighter and .3mm thinner

    • +1

Really? It would have to be 0.3mm thinner?

    • Agreed.

I was so close to buying one from Wireless1 in Paramatta until I walked and felt the weight of the darn thing. If your using it mainly as an e-book, I would recommend something thinner and lighter.

Its sturdy and semi-rugged, but too big for my tastes.

      The -weight- I know you'd feel…

but why care about the thickness, to 0.3 mm ?!?

  • One of the first of the older dualcore tabs to get ICS…at least for the US version.

I picked up one yesterday for $346 from Clive Anthony !!!

They give the impression that they are an Australian company. They have an Australian website and invoice you in AUD.

In fact, they are a HK company and their prices don't include GST. The goods are shipped from HK.

If something goes wrong with delivery or product quality, I don't know how you would get on!

Basically if something goes wrong with your order or the product during "warranty", DWI will give you the finger.

Its all over whirlpool, DWI are only good at shipping fast, everything else with DWI is a total nightmare. Also NSW fair trading get lots of complaints about DWI, and given that is the last course of action for consumers, it speaks volumes.

You have been warned. Youre better off getting actual Australian stock xoom for similar money.

      • Really? I was going to buy a DSLR camera from DWI. If that's the case I will not buy from them.

      • Thanks for the heads up. Was tempted by this…

    • I'm waiting for another HK place to compensate AustPost's loss of a ~ $400 item…

It tracked nicely from HK to "arrived Australia" then NOTHING,
      ie, on AustPost's tracking…

'checked with Customer & they haven't stopped it (AFATK)

Somehow, AU Post lost it… or some quick thief grabbed it & ran,
as it flew from HK Post's hands to AU Post's receiver.

      :-(

No joy to wait from stuff delayed from Overseas!!!

So this isn't like world wide warranty ?

  • Better to get it from Costco for $360 with a case.

  • Betta electrical has them for $328. I think there is a special free delivery for this month only.

    • You mean $428 and it's the 3G version?

      • Ooopsiee, sorry, yes you are correct. didnt know where i got $328 from.

+1 be aware of DWI reputation, check whirlpool forum

    • Never deal with DWI! They grabbed my money and delayed to ship it. It's been EIGHT weeks, I am still waiting for my Samsung Galaxy Note. Complaints have been lodged to Office of Fair Trading and ACCC.

      • -1

ACCC don't really do anything, and DWI also knows that the OFT can't actually enforce anything.

Once OFT contacts DWI about your order, DWI will instantly cancel your order and blacklist you. Thats what they did to me, even though I said I didn't want a refund and would rather wait. All I got back was "The company will no longer be dealing with you".

You have to take them to the tribunal to get a result.

Be very careful with DWI & eglobal (same company, also everything else under "Trudark" or something like that). They advertise a sale, sit on your money while trying to get you to buy something else (bait and switch?), and if you decline, they will refuse to deliver your purchase unless you send more money. Professionalism down to the gutter when they send mass copy paste e-mails to disappointed customers "WE DO NOT MAKE LOSS FOR ANY ORDER" (quoted as is, in capital). Google DWI Samsung Galaxy Notes Whirlpool, there are a lot of disgruntled customers. Just hope your purchase won't end up like that.

  • DWI = never again
