yep definitely worth an extra 70 bux…well reviewed drive from what i can see…..

  • How the warranty works for international items?

  • Ah crap I’ve now bought the P2 and now this P5 haha

    • +1

You and I both! If I see a Samsung 980 pro <$450 I’m also jumping on haha.

I’ve tried to cancel the P2 and they said they’ll try but can’t promise since they’ve started packing it… if they can’t I don’t think I’ll be mad haha

      • Why WarriorZ why? Why didnt you post in the morning? I bought P2 this morning and they already dispatched :(

        • I was tracking them all day. The p5 went on sale a few hours after the p2. So blame amazon :)

    • Me too. Oh well, they say you can never have enough storage!

  • Would this work well in an ultrabook? I'm using a Yoga 7i 14" with the factory Samsung PM991 512GB. Any power or thermal issues to watch out for?

    • +1

Yes it should, not sure of your exact laptop model but you can check it here
      https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/lenovo/yoga-s…
On thermals you can get a thermal pad for ssd on the ssd when it’s installed and it should be fine

      • Cool yeah it's not that model but I've checked compatibility. Good idea with the thermal pad - I didn't think of that. Haven't seen any decent 2TB drives this cheap, so I think I'll pull the trigger.

          I ordered this.
Easycargo Laptop M.2 Heatsink Kit, Copper Heat Sink + Thermal pad 1mm 0.5mm for Cooling Laptop M.2 2280 SSD (1-Pack) https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B081ZRW7Q4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_g…

From the US as well so should arrive the same time as the ssd

          • @Weefoo: Does this need a heatsinl for general use?

            • @Kanu: It shouldn’t need a heatsink as it’s comparable for laptops but a thermal pad won’t hurt.

  • Would you recommend this for a desktop or should I stick with standard ssds for that

    • There’s a few things to consider… Do you have a spare m.2 slot? Is this within your budget? Will it be a primary or secondary drive? What’s your use case? etc etc.
If you’re just a casual user storing documents or working from home, then this might be overkill and you should get a standard ssd for cheaper.

      • For gaming, and yeah I have an unused m2 slot. Thinking of using it for gaming mostly. It is within my price limit, I think 1 TB version would probably be enough considering I have a 500 GB data ssd as well

      • also for certain motherboards (check your motherboard manual), utilising M.2 slot disables certain SATA ports.

        Check your motherboard manual.

  • Back to $419.

  • Ordered this and recieved 500gb model WTF

    • What the!! Ask Amazon if they’ll honour the original deal and send you out a replacement. Mine’s still on the way.

    • Mine just arrived, luckily…. 2tb.

  • I spent 40 mins on the phone with them. They have issued refund for 293.75. But stated they cannot do replacement (some bull shit about amazon global store). After a lot of haggle, they agreed to issue a gift card for the balance so I can order again at full price.
But now, I am thinking do I want to risk it all again by placing ordering the same thing…

I hope no issues with your order.

https://ibb.co/d0GTTdg - this is what i got lol.

    • Hopefully they let you keep the 500gb at least?

Damn just saw your photo! I have less hope now considering the sticker was actually correct but on the wrong item!
