Reasonably competitive price, but the Audient Evo 4 is regularly $185 from the Amazon US storefront and is genuinely superior in terms of dynamic range, whie the UMC202HD is usually $100 from the Amazon UK storefront and gets the job done for most applications.

Check out Julian Krause on YouTube if you want further measurements.

    • I didn't know about the Evo one. Bought the Audient Id for $300 :(

    • The umc202hd doesn't have a midi interface, you have to go to the 204 which is 150 anyway, and as far as audio quality from my limited research the behringer one is the most complained about.

I was looking at this and the focusrite, and the other two popular ones (that one with the single knob) but between them I settled on this one because of the midi, the visual levels on the unit, and from memory it works across all platforms (including Linux, which while I am not likely to use for recording I might one day).

      • Yup, this would be the use case I was hinting at! A lot of people are just looking for something to combo with a mic for recording their YT/streaming content.

FYI, the 204HD is going for $130 on Amazon.

        • That's bloody cheap, I am just bit wary after some of the complaints. I have used behringer stuff before and not had a problem really, but the presonus also has the combination inputs, metal casing, separate knobs rather than a single knob you have to toggle. Lots of things to like about this one if you are a muso

          • @Jackson: The Presonus is definitely the better product, just not a huge fan of the step up it represents compared to Audient's gear in terms of the quality of the amplifier and interface, which tops out at almost 120dB.
