    That's a damn good price for these…

    • yeah I reckon I paid like 20 or something at least for mine.

  • +2

Ordered one although I don't need it.

    • +5

      Well restrained.

I have never had a smart plug as I have never seen the need for one and have got by fine but OzB took over and I just ordered 5. I still don't know what I will use them for.

I can see my wife's face now when they turn up……….

      • I guess I am not alone ;)

      • I have a KS105 which I use to switch off the router and NCD. Now I've got to find a use for this one

      • +5

My wife uses a phone charger which is plugged into a outlet which is hidden behind a sofa. She says she's 110% sure it was charging when she plugged it in and the wall outlet is still switched ON. Let her struggle for a while before I told her that I switched it off remotely. No dinner that night :D

    • How dare you?! It has to be a minimum of 2!

  • Definitely worth it. Make any device smart

    • +3

      You haven't met my family

  • Good deal op bought 2 with free delivery

  • why the hack i bought this…damn!!!

    • +2

  • +2

Thanks! Had a $20 coupon from Catch so got 4 for free!

  • +1

Got 2. Thanks OP. Now i just need to find uses for them. ha ha.

    • Plug one one onto another?

  • +1

does it work with google home?

  • How much bigger are these compared to the newer version?

    • The newer version is smaller than this but still a tight fit if you're going to use it on a double wall outlet where 1 outlet is already being used for something else. For $5 I'd prefer to buy the older version.

  • Free shipping!

  • I have a feeling this might be a price error

    • No, the same price on Bing Lee Official.

    • I think they're clearing out the old stock

    • Yea price was wrong, they just refunded today without any reason

  • +4

Thanks OP. For me this is the best deal for the day :)

    • The love is appreciated. Circle of life.

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Got 2

  • Combine with the 15% shopback cashback promo makes it sweeter! Maybe a price error? Will see if Chandler honors this.

  • Bought 4 before they revert the price, hope it will be honoured.

  • +1

Guys if this is a pricing error don't get mad if they cancel. Completely fine under consumer law too.

    • +1

it's not a price error, BING LEE itself is selling this at $5 on clearance.

      • +1

I never said it was a price error. I said if this is a price error, then it's completely fine for them to cancel it.

        • i am telling you that IF does not exist. because it is confirmed it is NOT a price error. PLUS i am not the guy neged you.

      • +1

Indeed I just noticed. Hopefully it's not a stock error since the website was sold out before Catch was.

    • These are the old models, they've been clearing out at various places for a while (ie Bunnings) but not this cheap.

They are a bit chunky, can't use the socket next to it but for $5 can't complain.

  • +4

The standard HS100 without the energy monitoring is also $5

  • +14

The HS100 model is still in stock by the looks. Same price, but no energy monitoring.

    • Got both, never used energy monitoring feature on mine.

Awesome remote switches. Got the Kasa powerboard too

      • +1

I bought this to monitor energy consumption used on my 3D printer and to automatically turn off 20 mins after print completion.

        • +3

Thanks I missed on 110, so got the one on your link. You may be already aware of this, but just in case if you arent, you can directly interface this plug to octoprint and let octoprint turn off when the print is done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fi8cms-Wnnk (at leaset ones with older firmware)

    • Cheers

    • Nice.. grabbed a couple of these as well as have plenty of Power Monitor ones already.

  • $69 each

  • +4

    Deal of the day..

  • Cheers, two of these hopefully…

  • Damn, that was a good deal. Must have been price error

  • +5

    Best deal in months.
    Bought this (4 pcs) and KL110B TP-LINK B22 WiFi LED Globe 2700K (8pcs)

  • +2

The TP-Link HS100, which is the same without the Energy Monitor is also $5 Delivered

    • Thanks OP, bought 4…

  • Haha bought 5 and wife was 😤

  • Awsome deal OP, unfortunately I am too late…

  • Too late for the party aye

  • +1

Looks like they changed the price on Catch, but on Bing Lee's website, the $5 price stands.
You just need to find a store with stock on hand, and can't order online.

  • Pre-heating the oven, warming up the iron, turning on the TV, boiling the kettle

How does one do this exactly from a smart plug? Dont you need to physically push or rotate the buttons on appliance to do it?

    • Using app on your mobile phone to control it.

      • Im talking about appliance, not the plug itself.

        • Perhaps by keeping the appliance's switch flipped and just using the smart plug. Like an iron that starts up as soon as its plugged in, etc.

  • Silly question perhaps, but can you plug a power adapter into these to monitor the total power usage (example: TV, amp, gaming consoles etc)

    • +1

Yes, it's what I do. I have certain areas like TV Cabinet (all items connect to powerboard). The powerboard connects to this which is plugged into the wall. In turn I know how much the total power is used across all devices. The other handy thing is that I can save any standby power and at night before bed just say e.g. Hey Google, turn off TV Area.

      • Thanks for your reply! Do you know if you can fit 2 of these next to each other on a twin power point? Or are they too wide?

  • +7

I got refund email, not happy

    • +2

Same here. I also used a $10 Club Catch voucher which is gone. Can't see it in my account anymore :(

    • Same here but on other tp link deal…
