  • Are these worth it?

Like ink cartridges ongoing price…. Better to just use a bag for my baby cousins?

    • can the bag keep the smells in? i suppose it could if you twisted it properly

If any one could let Turd and I know their opinion on these poo bags, that would be appreciated.

It's pretty good. Have been using it for the past three months. No stink yet. But my kid hasn't progressed to super stinky shit yet. I bought 18refills for $77 on Amazon last year.

I have seen people recommend the Ubbi as a cheaper option on forums. Just brace yourself when you open it to throw the nappy into it cuz it can apparently smell like death.

We use these and they do the job well, do keep the smell away, and save frequent trips to the bin. The cheapest ones that I can usually find are from Costco ( ~ 39.99 for 6 pack ) so this deal has some savings to be done. The running cost is indeed a factor. I have seen some generic bags on ebay that sellers claim fit this unit but have not given a shot as yet.

    • Been using for 3 months only for the No1s. We bag the No 2s in kmart bags and throw away instantly. So cannot comment about the smell. Realised, I use it mostly to be organised than anything else. Can live without it for sure.

Great , more landfill waste to the environment

  • Costco $39.99 with spot discount recently to $37.49 ——

One time purchase at Amazon is $38.99. Subscribing on Prime Day is the ultimate thirst trap, it’s not locking in that rate. It’s been my experience you only get that saved rate once — Worlds Best Kitty Litter, Cetaphil and Cranberry Juice I’d subscribed to on sale previously. Next delivery shot up to regular price.

    • Always buy a good amount on the first discount and then cancel subscription after delivery. Have been doing that for ages and it has saved me hundreds

      • Same here. Not saved me hundreds but a good amount of coin !

protip: buy no frills refills instead and do it yourself. it ends up way cheaper.

  • Honestly, this kit isn't worth it once the babies get to that stage where the no. 2s become a little fragrant. The refills are good for about 50-60 nappies if you use as instructed.

The original refills while good do not prevent a smell in the plastic bin (which you can't get rid off btw, we tried).
The DIY refills just do not work in terms of smell containment and are a waste of money. I bought on the basis of an ozbargain recommendation and these just didn't work.

We bought a 2nd hand ubbi pail from one of the online marketplaces and haven't regretted the decision. Also bagging the nappy in a nappy packet and then putting it in the pail works well (must use a normal bin liner though).
