Free Glass with Medium or Large Mac Meal (Mac Jr, Big Mac or Grand Big Mac) @ McDonald's

1560

McDonald's are offering a free glass with purchase of a medium or large Mac meal (choice of Mac Jr, Big Mac or Grand Big Mac).

6 glasses to collect - images of each glass shown on this page.

Glasses are also available individually for $4 (at least on the app they are - in "Extra Sauces" or "Breakfast Condiments", or just simply search "glass"). Doesn't let you choose which one on the app, but you could always try asking them for the one you want.

This week, it’s been announced that from June 23, a couple of well-loved menu additions will be returning to McDonald’s restaurants. “Aussie classics The Mac Jr and Grand Mac will be back on the menu by popular demand in restaurants across the country,” the fast-food chain shared in a statement.

Along with the menu-item refresh, Maccas will be giving away a free, limited edition Macca’s drinking glass with every Medium or Large Mac Family Meal ordered. These glasses are only available for a limited time or until stock runs out so best move quickly.

These glasses (there are six of them) have been designed with a rounded shape so they will “swirl your drink, but won’t spill”.

    lol
Looking at them glasses, I just had a flashback from my childhood..
We had glasses just like that at home that my Dad would use for whiskey but I never knew where they came from..

    Anyways, now I know .. 😂

  • +12

These would make sophisticated whisky glasses

    • +1

yep ….great for the after dinner whisky when friends come around ….

  • +3

how much do these glasses hold? is it like their usual TV ad where it looks big on the screen yet tiny in real life?

    • 300mls

    • +2

380mls according to the glass I just got ;)

      • +1

You're right. I came back to correct myself. Must have read 380 as 300 in store

    • +1

From their email "Macca’s glasses are designed to wobble. Please be careful when you pour liquids inside the glass to be sure liquids do not spill, maximum usage capacity is 300ml and recommended to use on flat surfaces."

      • +3

        "Designed to wobble"!
Isn't that a bit of a design flaw?

        • it would be a design flaw if they didn't wobble as they have been purposefully designed to wobble

  • +1

wonder if we can buy these for $2

    • if you are talking about cost it's way less.

but I don't think you can find it for sale anywhere….

    • Looks like you can, according to 7news.

“The Mac Family will be available from 23 June at 10:30am until 3 August or while stocks last, and can be purchased individually or as a family bundle in all restaurants and Drive-Thru, as well as via the MyMaccas app.”

      • +1

I believe they mean the Mac Family burgers "can be purchased individually" based on that sentence.

      • +1

my bad, it's available for purchasing in their app for $4. OK price

  • +4

    What is a family meal?

    • +18

      Meal for your family.

      • 🤣🤣🤣

        • is it the family dinner boxes?
          otherwise im bit disappointed!

    • +1

it refers to "any regular or large big mac meal" so any of the big mac range.

Although it'd surely also count if you got one of the existing family deals (providing it's regular or large).

    • +5

Mac Jr, Big Mac, Grand Big Mac - they're a family of 3.

  • what's the cheapest pack to get one of these glass?

    • +5

Cheapest should be medium Mac Jr meal.

  • +3

Awesome, was running out of shard so this is perfect thanks

  • +1

Glass is $4 by itself on the app. Doesn't look like there's any option for specific glass. It just says Macca's Glass

    • I noticed that. I'm only interested in the burger glass, buuut I only eat their coffee and 50c big macs.

  • +7

Looks like they ran out of ideas for the last 3 designs

    • +1

no, they cut down cost indeed by half the size of glass lol. plus competition is on with KFC having hunting game with free stuff and HJ with Uno promo

      • The KFC app never works for me even when I’m near it. The HJ game ended yesterday! 😇

    • +6

those aluminium cups were the worst.

    • +3

Last three designs the better ones for me…

      • +1

        I agree. More abstract.

    • +1

probably designed 3 glasses and then cut them in half cause cheaper

  • +1

is Mac Jr cheeseburger or quarter pounder size? this is very important

    • +1

Quarter pounder I think. Maccas app says it uses a quarter pounder bun.

      • thank you

edit hmm but the patty is smaller :O

  • +2

Waiting for the mcgriddle to come 50 years later still not here

  • +6

Isn't the Big Mac already junior size enough?

  • +4

Mac Jr only $0.20 cheaper than a Big Mac. Where’s the value in that?

    • +2

Apparently Mac Jr is 2190 kJ and the Big Mac is 2360kJ, so its comparable for kJ/$

    • Where's the value in anything they have apart from when 50 cent Smaller Macs (that still taste and smell like wet socks after all these years) come on offer.

  • +4

That article was painful to read. Do media companies scrimp costs on proofreading?

    • You're not wrong there. "We provide a lot of Australian beef."

    • -1

Diversity hires rather than aptitude hires, that's why.

  • +8

The grand big mac is just a big mac from the 80s.

    • +2

Long term shrinkflation at its finest. Check back in 2050, Mac Jr will be the Mac baby and everything will move down a notch.

    • The big mac has changed in size once, they went from buns that were wider than the meat to the same size a few decades ago. They've also started putting them in smaller boxes and squish them down more. Besides that it's the same.

Take a look at this article, even though they claim it's proof it's smaller, the burger on the left looks like the bottom is missing and the promo shot looks like it's full of air gaps (not sure it's even a real burger, looks like a fake one) - https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/food/eat/radio-hosts-put-b…

  • Am I ignorant for not knowing what a Grand Big Mac is?

    • +1

It's what the big mac original size was before they shrunk it to the "normal" size now.

  • +6

I can't be the only one that doesn't care much for these glasses? They're ugly AF

    • -1

And that's why all the housos will get a set for sure.

  • Looks like they have removed McChicken sauce as an extra. You can still choose it with nugget packs though.

  • +2

The Grand Big Mac is really filling.

  • Is the Grand Big Mac patty the same as a Qtr Pounder patty?

    • no the grand big mac/ mac jr is a different smaller patty

      • They used to have 10:1 & 4:1 patties when I worked there referring to 4 to a pound hence quarter pounder and 10:1 for cheeseburgers and big macs. You telling me there's a patty in between now?

  • +15

these are "wobble glasses" they dont sit flat. they sit on and angle and wobble. this is apparently a feature. what a piece of shit.

    • +2

      Lol

    • +3

From the press release/news article in the OP:

With a distinctive round shape, the glass is designed to swirl a drink, but it won’t spill.

      • +2

i obviously did not read the 'news article' no

but seriously its a terrible design i don't care if its on purpose, it sucks.

        • +3

No I agree, was just confirming it is a deliberate 'feature'

      • +1

This is a cruel yet hilarious trick if using these as whiskey glasses. Makes you feel like you've had more than you actually have.

    • So they compliment the food then.

    • +2

It's the 'too drunk' glass. If you spend any more than a few seconds trying to sit the glass level on the table, you've had enough to drink.

    • +1

I thought that too but it would actually be good for wine. Also whine lol.

Supposedly there are whiskey and scotch glasses designed to wobble also.

    • +2

Can someone please post a photo or link to a real life photo of these glasses? This "wobble" feature has now decreased my interest.

      Edit: Found https://twitter.com/lisalovesbaconx/status/14076332798685634…

      • +1

That is awful. A glass should be stable. Watching that video makes me feel uneasy. My interest is now near zero.

        Thanks for posting it :)

  • +6

They don't sit flat?! I'm in agreement that's a horrible design and an accidental spill or tip-over waiting to happen. I'm tapping out of this one I think…

    • +1

it's giving me anxiety just looking at it . so frustrating because its a fairly nice glass othewise lol

    • Apply hot glue blobs at the bottom.

  • What a shame that the glass isn't made with sugar glass - then at least something in this deal would be edible…

    • +1

$20b pa revenue. some like it.

      • Plenty of government housing areas in Australia.

  • +2

Very weird glasses for such a milestone promotion

  • How many design are out today?

    • +1

I got the Big Mac one today. Don’t know if they had other designs though.

      • where about is your maccas? need to drive around then.. hahaha

        • Haha I’m in Shitney (aka Sydney) right now so can’t help you there sadly.

      • I got the cup design.

        • Oooh nice. I might have to ask them next time what they have.

    • +1

I got the cup glass today

    • only cup glass here in Templestowe VIC today

    • came to check whether the designs were random or some sort of timed release/by store. Me & a friend who lived in different ends of Sydney, both got 2x Big Mac glasses for 2 meals. Hoping to see how to get the others.

Buying 2 meals likely results in 2 glasses of the same design as they come in attached in cardboard packaging.

  • +1

I'm a sucker for a Big Mac (with 5x Onion and 5x Pickles added on for free) and can confirm these glasses are stupid, no way it won't lead to a spill unless you're maybe only half filling them max.

  • +1

Lol everyone is getting their undies in a twist about the wobbly feature. I got the big mac one from George St, Sydney (Town hall) Maccas today and I think it's great, it's bigger than I thought (slightly bigger than my palm) and it would make an excellent whisky glass. It's wobbly but they also said it won't spill, which it doesn't, even if you push the glass around. It will spill if you knock the glass over, like any glass. The wobblyness doesn't make it more susceptible to knocking, however. If you poke it, it wobbles away from you but will wobble back due to gravity, hence won't wobble over…

    I want another!

    /2cents

  • does anyone know if they only distribute one design a day? do we get to pick the design when ordering?
if i get two meals, can i request for 2 different glass design?

    • +1

Burger design/pattern this week. Got both the same yesterday and today. At least Maccas @ 2164.

    • Maccas replied to someone on Facebook that all 6 designs are available now

  • Is the glass dishwasher safe?

    • +1

Yes, I just got one and it says dishwasher safe on the box.

  • +1

Can confirm we just got 3x big Mac glasses in one go too. Asked to change them and the girl said that's all they had. What a joke.

  • Is there a formalised swapping forum or the likes just for these glasses?
Went to two separate Maccas today for the glasses, both drinks glasses… Purchasing them sans meals so wouldn't want to waste more cash (didn't ask what they had @ second).

  • +2

These are nice glasses, but I really wish they had left out the wobbling gimmick.

  • Auburn 2144 - burger design.

Lets wait till next mid week for next wave.

  • Hurstville 2220 Westfield - cup design

  • I have 2x of the cup design from 2 different stores in VIC. Going to try buy the rest in one go.

  • Anecdotally seems like the cup design is in this week? Thanks for the updates guys, really helps out everyone else.

    • Clearly it varies store to store (or at least for different areas). Read the other comments.
