Best / Cheapest Way to Send T-Shirts and Hoodies around Australia?

Since we are currently running OzBargain Treasure Hunt and I'll be sending 50 hoodies and t-shirts over the next week — I am wondering what would be the best (and cheapest) method to do it?

For T-shirts I will be packing them into B4 cardboard envelopes and the postage will be $3.30 or $5.50 depending on weight. Hoodies after folded would be around 40x30x7cm, and AusPost would quote ~$13 to post that even though it's quite light.

Any alternative? Sendle?

  • Most recent post about sending stuff Business Startup. Trying to Find Cheapest Domestic Shipping Options for Small Items didn't unearth much.

  • I've found sendle good, however there are areas they don't service, they also don't send to po boxes, not sure if either of these things will affect you.

Strongly recommend talking to the staff at your local post office about a MyPost Business account - there's an in-store only offer at the moment.

  • Wait for another 7-Eleven parcelmate deal.

Meet up in person out the front of a police station. Cash only. Wait! What?

  • Meeting in person can be problematic,

    • Many ozbargainers simply do not want to meet in person
    • I'm from the Sydney suburbs with COVID cases
    • I need to send them to different cities across Australia
  • Put a $1 stamp on parcel and place in the street side letterbox

Find an old used envelope with a franked stamp. Write the winners name on the back, place t-shirt in envelope, seal, cross out the original address and write "Not known at this address, return to sender".

Someone I know used Sendle for her (new) small business. I believe it was the cheapest option and she didn’t have any issues, coverage or otherwise.
