Not going to lie, it's definitely not the most attractive looking couch but it looks pretty darn comfy and the price is spot on.

    • where?

    • +1

Where can you get a brand new reclining sofa, and one that is leather at that with free delivery. Please post the deal we are all waiting.

  • Will the delivery company bring this up the lift and into my apartment?

    • It comes in boxes. You might want to look at the dimensions.

      • +1

The dimensions are ok. At 97kg I won't be getting it into the lift and then into my apartment single handedly.

        • +1

I have had Costco deliver upstairs in my house. Hope they can deliver to your apartment too. If not, I would just try and offer the guys a Tenner or two to help get them over the line.

  • +2

The Reclining Sofa is covered in a rich brown coloured 100% Polyester fabric.

  • Awesome price. Pity there isn't a 2 seater option.

  • +1

    wow cracking price

  • Does anyone know if it can recline at the back as well as at the front (leg)?

  • +1

Costco doesn't deliver to Perth. Frustrating as we pay the same membership fees but don't enjoy the same benefits as our eastern cousins.

    • +8

Something gotta give for your lack of traffic and your affordable housing. I we guess get spoilt with ugly couches for cheap.

    • Thanks for pointing this out. I was about to head into the Costco Perth Airport store to try it out. You just saved me a trip. :)

  • Damn anyone know a good deal on those sofas that are convertible to beds and shaped like an L?

    • +12

      on her forehead?

      • I ain't the sharpest tool in the sheeeeeiiiiid

    • I got a good deal on the IKEA one but I got it from the scratch and dent area.

Step 1. Convince an ozbargainer to buy it.
Step 2. Couch surf at my new ozbargain friends apartment with sofa.
Step 3. Free couch. Free accommodation
    Step 4. Profit.

Do you want to be friends?

Open to the idea, though slightly concerned you'll devote too much time to avenging your father’s death

  • This couch will come back in fashion in about 30 years time.

    • +1

Agree, may not be the best looking couch. But if it’s going in a home theatre, it might be alright as you wouldn’t see it much. It’s the comfort that will matter

    • +10

I have a modern couch and it's a dead set uncomfortable cnut. Bring on the return of the comfortable ugly couch.

  • +1

Great deal. Grabbed 2. Thanks op

  • +1

Please note that just two recline. The one in the middle doesn’t. I have a similar one (better looking) from fantastic furniture. Very comfortable but we hardly use middle for seating

    • Very comfortable but we hardly use middle for seating *wink**wink*

  • +3

I had bad experiences with costco lounges. Garbage quality, Made in China with no pride in their work. In a few years it will snap and become useless and good luck trying to get a claim. Paying locally for a local made, or American Made, etc,may cost double or triple, but they last much longer and the resale value is good as well, and furniture stores like lazyboy comes with 10 years warranty. Where as this one comes with 1 year.

    • You can return things to Costco forever. Just get a refund.

We promise that, should you change your mind for any reason regarding the purchase of any merchandise, we’ll refund the purchase price at any time, with the exception of the items listed below*.

Certain Electronic goods (purchased on or after [August 31st 2020])
      Diamonds and watches
      Bullion
Special order kiosk and custom installed programs
      Hearing aid products

    • I have bought 2x couches made in Australia and they were the worst couches I have ever owned. The one from freedom the main wooden strut across the middle of the couch creeked and started to bow after a few months of use. It was a 3 seater with no support footing in the middle. So may have been a design flaw.

The 2nd was recently was a bench style 2 seater sofa frand the foam completely compressed also after a few months and it was like sitting on nothing with the wooden frame digging into your legs. The fabric also started to pil really badly. They replaced the foam but its happening again. The sofa mechanism is also broken and now only half comes out. So I have a repair request in for that.

I'm in a completely normal weight range for my height. Just really poor workmanship. Actually quite disappointing.

      • +2

Yeah, I think there's too much an assumption that Australian-made = better quality. Yes, China is known for producing cheap quality goods but we also have to keep in mind that China manufactures a lot of things, including some which are of superior quality too. The key is to know how to distinguish workmanship and material quality.

    • +1

Clearly says Country of Origin 'Vietnam' but ultimately you pay for what you get. Designer Italian and Scandinavian are fantastic but you also pay X10 more. Just like expensive quality China made furniture.

    • This couch isn’t made in China. I’ve sat in it at the shops and it’s pretty good. I can’t justify 3x the cost to buy local. You say that like it’s so simple.

    • Made in China means nothing.

It could mean really poor quality or excellent quality. It all depends on how much the retailer wants to spend and warranty the product.

Resale value? on a couch? lol

  • -1

Very comfortable, but very ugly. Looks like they are from the 80s and 90s.

    • +7

What's wrong with looks from 1985?… for example.

  • How much are costsco membership these days?

    • -1

$60 a year (for non-business) I think. Mine's on auto-renew so I don't really keep track. But this isn't a 'member only item'. I think the title is incorrect, in that I don't believe you need membership to buy this. Quite a lot of the products on the website is 'non-member' accessible.

      • +2

Need to register for an online account, which requires membership.

        • Fair enough. It seems pointless to have 'member only' items in that case (e.g. Mamamango Moscato 12 x 750ml). I mean, pointless to have that tag associated with these products.

  • -5

Pretty ugly. I wouldn't be caught dead with that in my home, couldn't care how cheap it is.

A lounge should look good (ie it should match or enhance the environment its going to be placed in), be of quality and be comfortable first. Cant look at the price first and then think about these things later.

    • Wrong crowd

      • -7

Yes, this sofa is clearly for those who have no taste or style and are heaps cheap.

        • +2

I mean, imagine placing this controller you posted a deal for on this sofa. It would instantly add a bit of class to it ;)

          • -4

@cute as duck: Nice try wise guy, but at least you can hide a controller.

            • +2

@Trishool: Wow. I was just having a joke not having a go at you. Notice the wink ;)

I even + your first comment. Neg back at ya

              • -3

@cute as duck: I was having a joke too mate, take a chill pill (but feel free to neg all you want, lol).

                • @Trishool: No taste or style? Thats a bit of a silly statement considering taste and style are subjective. The same people who say this is an ugly couch would then go buy a shuttle couch in bright orange with lime stitching and think they're being 'trendy'.

                  • @theRev: Yeah Im not buying any bright orange shuttle couch either :D Yes style is subjective, and clearly all those voting up this deal lack it :D

I got what looks to be a very similar [if not the same] leather version of this last year (then $1299):

    https://www.costco.com.au/PULASKI/Pulaski-Leather-Reclining-…

It's great - it was quite a bit cheaper than the 3 pc leather recliner package I got from Focus On Furniture (~$2000) for a different room - but it's higher quality, very sturdy (built like a tank, even with kids jumping on it) and durable but most importantly it's very comfortable.

For what it's worth, I also got a TV stand from Costco for the leather lounge room - https://www.costco.com.au/c/Bayside-3-in-1-TV-Stand/p/851999… - also very, very good.

Very good experiences with bulky products purchased off Costco, significantly higher quality than anything else at the price point.

    • that tv stand looks small, i mean i had a tv stand from amart and then i got a 65" TV and overall it looked so small.

so when looking at the the photo it looks cool but practical it looks small in real life if you ask me

      is that your experience too?

    • recliner you mentioned, is it headrests adjustable? On Costco's pictures and descriptions it's not clear.

    • @Peternow i've measured my door which looks to be is 80cm wide, and the sofa looks to be 99cm wide on the side. Do you know by any chance if the 3 seater sofa comes in a detachable pieces or it comes as one solid item? many thanks.

Tried contacting Costco online where they can't be of any much help on it.

      • +2

From memory - the base / main part of the unit is not adjustable, single piece. Came in a big box. The head inserts (3x) came in separate boxes.

@Simb24, the headrests of mine are not adjustable.

        • Many thanks

  • Thnx OP! Colour definitely not my first choice, but for the price I just had to try.

  • P.S. I don’t have it, but knowing Costco you could probably try it and always return if you don’t like.

You would have to ship it back at your own cost, no? I would just choose wisely in the first place.

  • +1

I have it delivered today, colour is better than I thought, very sturdy and good quality, it’s delivered by toll to my apartment via elevator, and then assembled by myself without any drama

    • Enjoy. They looked pretty good in the Store but I, already, have four couches for two people.

    • +1

Same it looks better in real life. Best $600 sofa ever
