Get the pro as pressurised portafilter isn't good

The plus only comes with a pressurised filter as well, unless that's changed? Regardless, you can pick one up directly from Breville for $20.

      • Linky? I got one from ebay that didn't fit the bambino but said it would :(

Single cup or dual cup? I bought this one from eBay without issue (dual cup single wall ie non pressurized)

Didn't buy this one as it was out of stock but seller assured me it would fit.

          Shipping was $10 though. 😞

        • Sorry, I don't have a link because I ordered it over the phone to make sure it was right. The details are below and the cost is $20 shipped.

If you can afford a little extra, I'd hold out for the Bambino Plus instead.

Same machine, however it gives you the option to automatically froth the milk which is super efficient, particularly in the mornings when you are on the run and have a few things going at one.

    • second that.

I bought it last year for $326 from TGGC

    • ill third that, its awesome time saver and does a better froth than any home barrista I've had serve me.

  • Bambino plus $436 at Appliances Online and Amazon.

The bambino plus has been and is still $360 at the good guys commercial.

    • Would definitely suggest getting this model instead.

      • Which?

        • The Bambino Plus.

    • Is there any way of getting an account with them? Or is it exclusive for business?

  • Is this model better than the Breville Duo-Temp Pro?

    • it has better form factors

    • Smaller and has Auto milk frothing function but no hot water outlet.

      • the wand can output water.
press single does and steam button same time =) you're welcome.

        • hmm.. didnt know that. Cheers

      • Only the Plus model has auto frothing, not the base model.

I would say that on a whole yes.

      They both a PID
      They both have pre-infusion.

Duo-Temp Pro has a thermo coil,
Breville Bambino has a thermo jet - faster heat up and steam time.

Duo-Temp Pro comes with a better group handle and both pressurized and non-pressurized baskets

Breville Bambino Plus - comes with Auto milk frothing
Breville Bambino - does not have Auto milk frothing
Duo-Temp Pro - does not have Auto milk frothing

I had breville Duo-Temp Pro. Worked well for 5 years. Great little beginner machine. I would pick this instead of bambino solely because of non pressurised portafilter. Learnt a great deal with that machine.

    • In the last month, I purchased the Bambino to replace my existing Duo Temp Pro.

Mainly did it for the bench space, but I prefer the Bambino for a few other reasons:
      - quicker start up time
      - pre-set single/double shot buttons instead of manually timing every shot
      - more powerful steam wand = better/quicker milk frothing
      - thermo jet uses less water (doesn’t have to flush out water after every extraction/steam)

Note that I am not using the stock portafilter or baskets, but the duo temp’s heavier portafilter and non-pressurised baskets. I would invest in a replacement basket at the least if I didn’t already have them.

Bambino Plus is better only if you want the machine to steam the milk for you, otherwise it’s basically the same.

  • Thanks everyone for their input, I might go for the pro too :)

$357 on TGGC, while the plus is for $361 (black colour only)
worth spending the extra $4 if you are in the market for one
