Its cheap because its crap ;)

    • Can you elaborate?

      • Ever accidentally had a swig of your whisky after someone butted out a ciggie in it? That's the same 'double black' taste! Makes a mockery of Double Black when it tastes worse than just normal black label.

Of course there will be people who like it - I just hate it.

        • Ever accidently had a decent Scotch whiskey from the Islay region?

Fair point. But this comes without the cost of a flight :)

  • Seems to be about the normal price, meanwhile Black has become much cheaper.

    • and is IMO - better.

Amazing scotch. Blows Black, Green and even gold out of the water. I would put it on par with some $100 bottles, the only thing I've had that's smoother is Chivas Royal Salute, though I am yet to try the new Johnnie XR21 or Blue label.

What wold be really nice to see though, would be a nice discount on Reckordelig slabs.

'amazing' ROFL 'just drinkable if you are half cut' there fixed it!

        Lol opinions!

  • Better then Johhnie blue IMO. and yes I do have half a bottle of blue lable sitting in my bar as it is crap.

Last time I checked normal price for double black at Dan murphy's was $50. Wollies and coles normal price is about the $60 mark.

Best scotch out there for price.

    • Whoa. Big call. Double black has a nice hickory flavour to it. I prefer Blue. I reckon it is richer and has more depth/complexity to it.

      • It seems this rubbish has found its target market, and its way into the bargain bin.
Why is there never a clearance sale of JW Blue??

  • Typical review from a random tasting website;
Smoky and mildly medicinal on the nose, with barbecue, vanilla and lemon notes. The rich palate offers restrained grain, lots of malt character, a pinch of pepper, peat and black jelly babies. The finish is lengthy and satisfyingly bonfire-like.

If that's how you like your scotch, then knock yourself out!!!

They can market it any way they like, mark my words it will not be around for long.
