    I can't see any improvements.

The hover over the maximise button to get preset window layouts is good and memorising window layouts when reconnecting display inputs is handy.

I'm still sticking with W10 for the time being.

Yeah with new technology it's best to wait at least several months to a year preferably until they get all the bugs fixed.

I can see more spying/telemetry gathering, though, from Microsoft's announcement:

"we require a Microsoft account and internet connection for setup"

  • WIndows 10 had a good six year run

Android apps built into microsoft store, thats something….it should make windows store more useful

    • Butttt they run off the amazon android app store

    • Have you browsed the Android App Store.

      There's a lot of filler…

        filler

That's a nice way to put it.

    Memory 4 GB RAM

Interesting. I would have thought 8 but maybe they have found new efficiencies compared to W10.

    Edit : nevermind. W10 minimum is 2GB 64 bit and 1GB 32 bit

1/2GB on Win10 is laughable. Are those recommendations just looking at "Yeah, you can boot the OS", or "You can boot the OS and use the machine".

8GB is my personal absolute minimum recommendation for anyone.

      • You can scrape by with 4GB if RAM, I did so for 3 years and for the most part, I had no complaints. I didn't notice too big of a difference when I upgraded to 8GB. It's not like it boosts your FPS in games or anything.

Yeah, I don't like to scrape by haha.

No. More for those who have a number of applications or services running at the same time - or just lots of browser tabs!

    From a rejuvenated Start menu

Haven't they learnt from Windows 8?

I'll install it after they fix all the major bugs at launch.

    • So service pack 12 in 4 years?

    • I'll install it after they fix all the major bugs at launch.

You'll never install any version of Windows at that rate :D

  • I debloated Windows yesterday. Will this put it all back again?

  • Dells advertising it on their laptops

Free upgrade to Windows 11* when available.
You'd be mad to take me up on it.

A lot of home computers won’t have TPM 2.0.
You may get around it by enabling Intel PTT or AMD FTPM in the BIOS.

The Windows 11 Health tool doesn’t say the reason if your machine isn’t Win 11 capable so it’s a bit of a mess right now. I like some of the new features

  • I think none of my computers are eligible for the free update, might see whether I can find a roundabout way of getting windows 11, since some of the new features looked interesting.
