Like to know, with it being in a sealed bag, the food actually "expires" or it's more like a best-before date.
It's more of a best before than a true expiry. Even though Budget Pet Products always calls short-dated stock 'close to expiry', most dog food bags will have 'best-before' (and not 'expiry') printed on the actual bag.
The general rule-of-thumb I was given when I worked at Petstock is that the natural/holistic foods will usually be fine for another 6 months after their best-before if they're sealed (but after that they might start smelling stale even if the bag is still sealed). And the non-holistic stuff (Hills, Royal Canin, etc) will usually last another 1-2 years after their best-before if sealed and stored correctly.
