The lowest price I have seen for this Sandisk UHS-II reader (USB 3 type A). Usually in the $30-40 bracket. > OOS
The USB-C type is $30.97 SanDisk SDDR-409- Extreme Pro SD USB3.0 Type-C Card Reader is also the lowest I have seen, ideal for Macbook laptops. I have this myself for my Macbook. Unlike the type-A, it is more flexible as it has a short cable connection, so the reader unit does not block the adjacent USB-C port.

Ideal for transferring fast USH-II SD cards. Good for Sandisk Extreme Pro UHS-I SD cards too, as it has been reported that they don't transfer their maximum speeds with third party readers.

Support for super-fast SD UHS-II card transfer speeds - The SanDisk Extreme PRO SD UHS-II Card Reader moves content fast to expedite your post-production workflow.
Compatibility - Compatible with UHS-II and USB 3.0, backward-compatible with UHS-I and non-UHS SD cards, and USB 2.0.
Compact SD card reader - The small size of the SanDisk Extreme PRO SD UHS-II Card Reader makes it perfect for fieldwork and on-location shoots.

I have tested the code, it is still active.

because it is usb-c, all new MacBooks have usb-c only I guess

Bought it last week. Seems genuine

  • Always noticed generic card readers usually get extremely hot is this the case with this SanDisk reader or basically all readers get hit cause of the small physical size of the card and high transfer speeds, just wondering if anyone knows, cheers

Also I got the type USB-C to the USB-A adapter that came with my Samsung mobile wondering if these adapters limit the speed in anyway? As I might as well just buy the type USB-A one 👍

I got the Sandisk USB C one, after using 2 generic UHS-I ones that stopped working after a year. I did not notice it being hot when I used it. I very much doubt a physical USB A-C adapter would slow down speed.

      • Thanks for that, the reader I used that gets very hot is extremely small reader and it's a microSD card reader adapter, might be reason why it gets so hot though I have had times were a microSD card has got hot in my mobile also so could be the card itself, maybe the heat is spread easier over a bigger SDcard over a microSD card toi or most likely its just the reader I'm using also being very small and was cheap

        • If you use a Macbook, keep in mind the USB-C one have a cable connection, so the reader unit does not block the adjacent USB-C port.
