Couple 50c little bubble wands always makes the kiddos happy too. I've used that one a few times on such deals.
do they make a 1tb one?
No.
that sucks. i wouldn't get any less than 1tb of the game sizes.
Currently not a great value proposition compared to OP's deal
microSD Express is relatively new tech, so it'll take some time for availability and prices to improve
this is just a normal Mario Kard - you are looking for a Super Mario Kard!
Is 256gb enough for most people? Or is it better to go for higher capacity?
I have only used about 70gb of the internal storage, but that said most of my games are switch 1 ports (some with switch 2 updates) and indie games.
FFVII Remake Intergrade (coming in January) is about 90GB though… and if you want to play Cyberpunk that's another 100+GB…
Still not a lot of options available, especially at this price point.
Given most physical game releases are game key cards, if you want to be able to keep a lot of games ready to play then 256GB likely won't be enough but if you're happy to manage what games you have installed then it should be fine. Even the on board storage is actually pretty decent (still can't believe the original Switch only had 32GB), I do find myself having to delete things sometimes but our internet has mostly gotten to the point where redownloading doesn't take too long.
I just picked this up because it's a decent price
For me I think a 512GB is the sweet spot at minimum, but I am a want everything installed person as I never know what I feel like playing.
Agree, I'm waiting for a deal on 512GB as well. My on board storage is already full, I like to keep everything ready to play as well.
I only used 128 for my switch 1. But, I'm a predominantly physical cartridge player.
Cyberpunk is 63.6gb for switch 2 plus that recent small patch, I think split fiction is around 70gb, stars wars amusingly is around 20gb on switch 2 (70gb on other consoles I think).
I've got a 512gb card that's getting filled quite nicely. You can move items to internal storage as well, but with some Devs not reducing the storage requirements much and with game key cards popping up, it gets filled pretty quickly.
It's been $74 on Amazon a while so a good deal. Thank you, OP!
Can this be used for other uses? Like gopro/insta 360
yes, but AFAIK GoPro just needs normal MicroSD (not 'express') which are much cheaper currently.
for this you are paying extra for the 'express' part of it which is a Switch2 requirement, the GoPro wouldn't use the extra throughput anyway as it would be limited to whatever the normal speeds are.
You can, because MicroSD Express is supposed to be backwards compatible with MicroSD devices, but it's a bit like putting in 98 petrol in your lawn mower that's only designed for 91.
You'd be paying a premium for no tangible benefits.
gonna start posting this without context
Mirrored your order lol, another present for the other half
Snagged one - thanks op
Looks like a good deal, have this one at the moment but need a bit more space and noticed Scorptec has Sandisk 512GB microExpress on backorder for $92, DigiDirect appears to be twice the price though, price error? - https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/flash-memory/micro-sd-ca…
This looks like a better way to go. The $10 shipping makes me hesitant though.
Agree, I'm hoping its not a price error where they knock it back and they just honour it, Teds, Amazon and Digi-Direct are all $200 for the same card. I think it might be missing a 1 at the front :)
There used to be a Samsung one when Switch 2 was first released. What happened to it?
If you need ideas, kitchen items are usually $1
