      I know you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but both parties need to be happy in order to have a working relationship so the title of this book really turns my gut. I've never been happier since the split with my ex. If anyone I know says they're getting divorced or sitting up, I just say congrats 😂

        I was married to someone who used to physically, emotionally and financially abuse me every time i didnt give into her demands and her time line. She kept doing it till the one time i said no and then filed for divorce. This statement of Happy wife, Happy life is such a BS comment that make many men accept behaviour that would be totally unacceptable if it was reversed.

          First of all, congratulations.

          Sorry to hear about the abuse though. Sounds rough. My advice is to get on dating apps as much as possible. Also when overseas travel opens up, travel by yourself. Nothing is as liberating and fulfilling as taking a holiday by yourself. It's like all the shitty holidays or weekends away that you went on with your ex, except you can go where you want, when you want, and your ex isn't there. No constant anxiety or stress/treading on eggshells.

          Then write a letter to yourself (actually do this) writing what you will or won't accept in a partner. For me, #1 on the list was not an alcoholic, #2 was being financially mature/like minded.

          Note, the advice above would be the same if OP was male or female.
