        Awesome!

Big F to the downvoters! Excuse me offering alternatives!

        • Haha, you saved me $$$ so thank you. Here's an upvote.

  • Had a blackwidow elite (green switches too) which I liked but had to return it under warranty, wanted replacement but they had no stock so gave me a full refund. Does anyone know how different this is from blackwidow elite? Google searches have let me down because apparently there's about 76 different variants of the blackwidow keyboard.

I can see this one doesn't have a wrist rest or media keys like the elite did.

    • I believe the switches are the upgraded versions but the keyboard is plastic for the most part unlike the elite.

From anecdotal reviews from people who have used both this is a heavier version of the cynosa V2 shell but feels more premium.

      • Thanks but sorry not 100% following, are these switches the same as the elite or different? Both claim to be razer green so I'm assuming the same? Liked the typing on the elite - I don't mind if this is more plastic compared to it.

        • Oh the green click themselves are the same, Razer just improved the failure rate of the switches.

the elite switches has the walls around the keys that protect from dust and spills that changes the sound according to this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsJBykKSAms.

chroma v2 and v1 have the same gen 3 switches.

    • This model is commonly referred to as Blackwidow 2019.

The current elite is the Blackwidow Elite V3 with roller media keys and wrist rest.

      The Pro is wireless.

  • Eh deal.
I purchased this keyboard for this price around a year ago. Plus this price is pretty normal on Amazon. Even JB are doing it for this price too ATM.

I would avoid this keyboard. So many inconsistent keys. Some of my green switches sounds and feels like a Cherry Brown and others need more/less actuation for the keys to activate. Got a replacement from Amazon and it was even worse.
    RGB lighting is decent.
    Razer Synapse is a pain.

    • Got it purely because my 5 year old keyboard had enough is showing bad signs, would get that JB offer if JB ever offered shipping for free.

Thanks for the heads up though, will keep an eye out in case i have issues from the get go.

Would you recommend any other 120-200 mech keyboards?

      • $100-150 - Logitech G512 Carbon or Kingston HyperX Alloy Origins
        $150-200 - Corsair K70 RGB Mk2

        • Do you know any tkl(65% size) options? I wanna spend similar but can't find anything :(

    • Delete everything after the question mark for links.

  • How would this Razer compare to the Logitech G512 Carbon GX Brown Tactile?

    • +1

Greens (Razer's MX Blue imitations) are clicky switches and Browns are tactile. That's the biggest difference. Clicky makes an audible click with a very small bump. Tactile makes no audible click and has a bigger bump (in pressure) when you actuate.

      • thanks, i will probably walk in to a store to test it out.. typing on a Logitech G610 MX Cherry Brown right now which is great keyboard but i find them abit too soft.

        • +1

Blue-style switches are generally actually lighter and less tactile than Browns. Just FYI.
