That board has 1 pcie 4.0 m.2 and 1 pcie 3.0 m.2 according to the spec sheet from gigabyte.

Awesome thanks I didn't look close enough, excuse my hasty judgement. Purchased.

"Dual Ultra-Fast NVMe PCIe 4.0/3.0 x4 M.2 with Dual Thermal Guards."

If you want more than one PCIe 4.0 you need X570 boards.

  • Is this much better than the B550 Aorus Elite AX V2? Bought that for $169 the other day and now regretting it ;(

    • +4

Yes, this board is a lot more useful than the Elite, mainly it has debug LED so you at least know what components is giving trouble if it doesn't post

Other features are more overclocking related

      • Same vrm, better vrm cooler on pro
      • better memory support on pro

If you bought from Amazon, you can return it for a $7 fee +$3 difference in price, the aorus pro is worth that $10 difference

      • +1

In28909 has written an excellent comparison of the boards. However, I'd like to mention that the Elite has a 4 layer PCB, while the pro has a 6 layer PCB.

      • why is there a fee to return ?

        • Change of mind return, you pay postage

          Not satisfactory, free return

What you choose, that's up to you 😏

          • @ln28909: The other is incompatible.. I've had a few purchase incompatible with my wallet…

              • @Haliax: The other other one is "arrived too late".

Dam! Missed the editing deadline for my other comment. I mistook that comment, for him saying that the other option "Not satisfactory", was an option incompatible with his account.

    • Comparison from Gigabyte website

      https://www.gigabyte.com/Comparison/Result/2?pids=7431,7499

The Pro boards are 6-layer PCB compare to 4-layer on the Elite boards (if my information was correct)

      • +2

Dam! Just posted the same thing.

Probably, should mention that this means the potential for better memory overclocking.

Quick question lads, I'm after a good B550 board with WIFI - this or the 'MSI B550 Gaming Edge WIFI' or 'ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI'? (assuming they all cost the same.) Cheers!

  • Damn would of bought from amazon…. good dealio!

    • +1

Mine from SE should be arriving tomorrow 😊

      I literally lost $17 in just 2 days lol… oh well…

Is the USB disconnect still a thing with Gigabyte B550 motherboards or the latest BIOS updates have fixed them?

Also I heard Gigabyte is not as good or as reliable when it comes to BIOS updates and customer services compared to Asus. Could someone please confirm if it’s still the case.

    • Mate I don't know why you are being downvoted because this is an issue.

I have this exact same board and can't get my all my USB slots to be fully effective.

Bios updates don't seem to be doing much.

      • Yeah, I’ve no idea why I was being down voted just for asking a genuine question. Apparently it’s because it’s my fault for not reading the other thread and googling for the answer before that. Anyway I’ve done the ‘homework’ now and the answer apparently is the motherboard is great and the USB issue has been resolved in the latest BIOS update. Maybe you could try with the latest one as well if you haven’t?

      • A bios came out about a week after your post. I've not long had my board, but my initial usb mouse jumpiness seems to be resolved. They don't mention usb fixes in the release notes (they said they fixed it back in March..) but they did update AGESA. Give it a try.

      • What accessories did you get? Anything nvme related like heatsink or extension cable? I got one from techfast, with only the wifi antenna and 2 sata cables.. wondering if I'm missing something. Gigabyte's website is no help.

  • Says $199

Is there any other Gigabyte motherboards you guys have been itching for a sale on?

    • How about the Gigabyte b550i aorus pro ax?

Looking for a decent motherboard for a mini-ITX build.

      • We don't stock ITX boards im afraid :/

    • b560m aorus pro would be great :-)

      • I'll put up a sale for them now :D
