      Disagree, but ok.

Those who laugh should worry about their own game and not the equipment of others.

      • +1

Exactly. I never understood people who get wrapped up in brand names or the look of clubs. I'd use a brick on a stick if it improved my game!

  • +2

Will get it for the open faced club, the sand wedge!

That's what my Camry is for.

      • -4

        chuck these in the boot

        • Fair call, but golf is largely a middle class game around these parts. So there's that

  • Would have to assume left-handers don't get a look in

  • +1

Basically Vokey copies, aren't they? I'd imagine they're a pretty good choice for the vast majority of mid to high handicappers.

    • +1

Vokeys aren't for mid to high handicappers. Anyone in double digits (probably even high single digits) should be using the Cleveland CBX2's

For should reason everyone uses blade wedges.

      • Very, very subjective. Generally speaking, the shorter the club the more forgiving it is. For many mids, the extra forgiveness of cavity back isn't needed in wedges and the extra feel of a blade design wedge outweighs that.

        • True on the club length. Also dependent on the courses played, but many mids and especially high handicappers could use more bounce on their SW. E.g. the CBX2s have 12 deg and some game improvement sets have 14 deg

        • You're right that it's subjective. But I wouldn't say "very very". If you google "cavity back wedges vs blade wedges" it's amazing the amount of supporters of cavity back wedges.

          • @C0mbat: agreed, mid and high handicap should use all cavity backs. low handicapper blades.
you will get the forgiveness in the cavity back. these kirkland wedges are made for improving mid to low handicappers. if you want to improve get blades, you will get good fast because you don't like the sting in your hands from bad shots, lol.

if you just play every now you should get cavity backs.

i play M2 driver & 3 wood, scotty newport putter, mizuno blades 3-PW, and vokey 50,54, 58 for perfect gapping. i use to play 60 and my pro friend told me to give a 58 a try. i was like 2 degrees makes no difference. i was wrong, 58 is now my swiss army knife, it is pretty much my favourite club, you can play it from anything anywhere.

  • I read somewhere that they are Cleveland design and manufacture

  • TXG compared them to vokey small in this video

I'd buy a set and a box of the Kirkland balls if I had a membership.

    • balls are ok, they are the 3 piece balls now. great value as a mid range ball.
now the 4 piece is the one you want, which they don't sell anymore unfortunately. These were the ones that were super cheap and performed better then the prov1. i really enjoyed them when i had them. it was nice to use the same ball in practice and competition because it was so cheap. the prov1 i use only for tournaments and played with used prov1 for practice because it got to expensive.

  • I don't play golf so wonder if this one works for women golf player as well? Heard many golf gears doesn't work unless it's specifically says for ladies.

    • +2

Womens' golf gear has weaker shafts to allow for the fact that their swings are not as strong as mens'.

    • +1

Depends on the person but I think being wedges ladies could use them unless they require lighter shafts.

  • Dunno amatuer golfers need a lob wedge. A gap and sw will be more than enough.

  • -1

they been here for a while
This is full price, not an ozbargain at all.

  • $10 cheaper in store

  • Pretty in-depth review by Rick Shiels on YT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUrH3IzyjGs

I'll definitely be sticking to my Vokeys though!
