Buying lotto tickets from ozlotteries in QLD

QLD residents can't purchase lotto tickets from ozlotteries. I've moved from NSW but still have my old address on there. Wonder what would happen if I were to win a big prize while living in QLD? Any ideas?

  • Potentially void the winnings, so definitely risks involved.
    Conditions are clear here..

  • Plenty of other lotto draws available in QLD and there's the online ones like thelotter and thelotteryoffice etc.

Why not buy tickets direct from the lottery concern, as opposed to an agency?

The odds of winning the lotto is almost the same regardless of whether you buy a ticket or not.

    • It's about the same odds as dying on the roads. I don't buy lotto's personally, but I can understand the appeal when its a fun offset to car death lol.

Imagine if you won both of those "lotteries" on the same day.

The odds of dying in a car crash are higher than winning the jackpot (which is what I assume people enter for). I both drive and enter the lottery, the latter far less than the former, I guess I’m doing it wrong, or maybe right depending on how you look at it.

I don't think it's a problem you really need to worry about.

shut up and just give them all your money already

  • I use the lott app and in it's terms it mentions Golden Casket being the QLD supplier?

  • From what I can see from thelott.com is that each State has a government lottery licence e.g. Golden Casket or NSW Lotteries etc but it all comes under The Lott. That's the same name on the newsagency signs.
