Why? Do you suffer from hypoxemia?

      • +7

Well if we don't already know if we do, we'll find out soon enough after buying one of these!

        • True…

      • Could be suffering from hyperoxemia

        • Best see your doctor for that.

    Interesting.

Might add this to my collection of other medical instruments I've been collecting

This is the comment I was talking to you about on the phone, officer. Y'all need to check his basement.

  • Might be dumb question but is it realistic to wear this while on a spin bike? Does it give continuous reading?

    • hi yes it will continue to read your oxygen saturation and pulse

    • +1

It says that it 'Automatically powers off in 8 seconds.' So it probably won't work for getting continuous reading.

    • Thank you. Sorry for silly question.

      • +2

It will not power off while it detects a pulse and will continuously monitor your heart rate and sats. However, I don't think it'll work well during exercise as it needs stability to establish a reading.

You also don't need to monitor your sats during exercise if you don't have lung or heart disease.

Here's a good video on how they work.

    • My different brand oximeter stops reading if your finger is not still and resting.

    • Get a cheap xiaomi fitness band

      • Wearing one right now. But they are completely inaccurate.

        • Are they? I've never compared mine. What model do you have?

  • Got one. Handy for family members. Thanks OP👍

I wonder if you can see The Matrix if you connect one to each finger

Doesn't obstruct your view to the TV in anyway whatsoever.

  • Ordered one, thanks OP.

  • Not adding to cart anymore

  • SpO2 device at home is a must imo, but I just use my watch. this is good as everyone can use it not sure if it has an app to track readings for various users

    • SpO2 device at home is a must imo

      Why do you say that?

IMO, if you don't have a condition where you would need to monitor your SpO2, why do you need a device to monitor it?

      • +2

Covid affects lungs the most in critical conditions and there has been cases overseas where younger people had covid and thought they will recover but by the time they went to hospital they had below 90% SpO2, more around 85%.
In general you are right but now at $15 or on your watch you can monitor your health.
It helps for people with sleep apnoea condition that many won't notice it too but it can lead to low oxygen saturation which is very important for children who normally won't have any signs other that tiredness.
