FYI if you have a motherboard with pci e gen 4 slot on the bottom don't get this drive the heat sync is massive it will cause you issue with clearance in most cases.

if your NVME slot is on the top of the board how ever go nust this is a good price.

    • thanks for the headsup

B550 Aorus Pro will probably have issues as the PCI4 slot is near the CPU

      • Oh god, good point. I have an extremely old Asus Z170-P and thought it'd be okay according to PCPartPicker

        • +3

That board doesnt even support nvme m.2s. only sata.

          M.2 socket, Serial ATA-600 (RAID)

          • @kehuehue: Oh weird, I was just going off with PCPartPicker told me, damn it. Thanks for letting me know.

            • @Slut: hi-octane petrol is compatible with your datsun, but whether it's worth paying for is a different kettle of fish

          • @kehuehue: What a save, just made that guy's day.

    • My top M.2 port is just below the graphics card PCI-E slot so what's the problem with the heatsink does it sit too high?

Edit: I have a Gigabyte AORUS x470 Gaming 7 Motherboard

  • So what are the chances this will be suitable for direct storage. My current 256gb 950 Pro is struggling but I have been holding off buying until I know what I’ll need. This seems significantly slower than the 980 Pro?

Really want one, don't need one

  • That colour 🤢

You don't like raw polished copper? Rare.

  • reckon the price will drop any more or just snatch the deal?

  • Does an SSD really need a heatsink?

    • +1

      Yes

    • Bloody oath they do. NVMe drives get super hot.

  • will this fit the top m.2 slot of rog strix b550-a?

  • OOS

    • I bought one, don't think it will fit my computer. Asked them to cancel order but they have already shipped. Can sell for this price to anyone in Adelaide.

      • Just wondering were or why on your motherboard it won't fit?

  • Would this fit in the Gigabyte Dark Hero?

    • +1

You mean the Asus Dark Hero? Don't see why it wouldn't.

  • Bought the 2TB version hope it fits a Gigabyte AORUS x470 Gaming 7 motherboard as the top m.2 port sits under the top graphics card PCI-E slot,.. so I'm a bit worried the heatsink might be too high and stop the graphics card fully sitting in the PCI-E slot properly, even though this m.2 drive is wasted on a x470 board (as only 3.0 m.2 speeds) my next option is too use the even slower bottom m.2 slot as a slave drive 👍🤣

    Edit: out of stock 👍
