Best 2021 TV for Next Gen Gaming

Hey guys, been trying to look for a new 55" - 65" TV with the capability to run at 4k120hz to utilise my Series X to the fullest and am looking for some suggestions.

I like the new Hisense models, they have that new game mode, but I don't think they have full HDMI 2.1 functionality (not sure if that really matters or not).

The new Samsung's also look good and have full HSMI 2.1 functionality as far as I can see but they are a bit more pricey/not sure of the quality.

Looking for some suggestions on this, monitors are out as I need it to function as a TV in the living room too.

Ive been looking at TVs recently and below is my info based off of wanting something with at least decent local dimming.

Main questions are hw bright is the room during the day and will you be watching much Netflix or movies at night in a dark room?

For Samsung if the room has a lot of direct sunlight you will probably want to go with the QN85A if you don't use the tv much at night. If you do watch at night the QN90A because it has a VA panel and will have much better blacks than the 85A with its IPS panel. Problem here is that the QN95A is a lot more expensive.

Alternative from Sony is the X90j which has a VA panel and so should perform better than the QN85A at night but doesn't have as wide a colour gamut or get as bright. Also Sony TVs don't yet have all of the HDMI 2.1 features, they are promised to come in a later update.

The Sony equivalent to the QN95A is the X95J but it isn't out until next month and so far there are no reviews. There are some fears that it might follow the trend of the X90J and have worse colour gamut than last year's H model but we will have to wait and see.

If your room doesn't get so much natural light then OLED is the way to go, I personally like the Sony A80J but the LG C1 also has great reviews and has all of the HDMI 2.1 features out of the box.

LG CX or C1. C1 is newer I believe. Seems to be the top pick in reviews. I am trying to convince the wife to let me get a 65 or 77 but the 77 is an absurd price!

    • Since you're going absurd you might want to have a look at the G1 or even Z1!

      • Yep if you are looking for the best it's the LG C1 or G1 or the Sony A90J when they are being sold.

    • Just had a look and really like the LG C1's, thanks for that

I'd avoid Samsung TV's on principal. Those ads in the menu is inexcusable.

    • +1 hate the app store as well, why cannot they just use andriod.

Hopefully something better performace/value TVs from Sony/LG soon

See if you can price match this deal on the C1 via GGC.
