Yellow Pages to Find Someone

I’m trying to find someone but only have their phone number, full name and suburb, can the address be acquired from only yellow pages or you can some other form of online way?

    not suspicious at all

    • Sorry just some personal relationship partnership visa issues have to resolve, I want to drop a letter. Calling and sms or email is not a option at the moment

      • +2

        Because she blocked you?

@kerfuffle: You really like looking into people’s past posts, I’d rather not look into your thanks.

            • +3

@DEvok: Unlike you, I give to the community more than I take. You take far more than you give if what you've posted in the past year is anything to go by.

    uummmm ring and ask them?

    • OP too tight to pay for call, thus posting on OzBargain…

  • +5

    Is she hot?

(btw - Yellow Pages were for business. White Pages were for residential).

    • +2

I thought White Pages was just for White People.

      • Racist!! haha

      • +3

Ah so OP has an Asian fetish, sounds about white.

    • +1

I remember when "hot" were a good thing, now it is a Covid symptom.

    only have their phone number

Reckon calling and asking them would work?

    • As stated I want to drop a letter, it’s the most human thing that can be done, I won’t move to anything beyond that which I could, by this is the most ethical thing.

      • +3

The most ethical thing would be leaving them alone, perhaps?

        • I been legally advised to do this.

          • +7

            @DEvok: Then leave them alone.
Even dropping them a letter is enough to get you into a whole lot of sh.t.
And if you actually did care, you'd respect the fact that they don't want any contact with you.

          • +12

@DEvok: I'm very curious which legal advisor directed you to Australia's most eminent bargain hunting website?

            • +7

              @BOGOF: obviously the cheapest one

            • +1

@BOGOF: Surely it was a legal expert here on our volunteer team of crackshots.

          • @DEvok: What leave them alone? Then do it.

If you can't talk/ring this person find an intermediary (family, friend or paid service) who can ring the other person and deliver the documents. If the other party does not wish to interact with you then what you are trying to do is nothing but stalking.

    • To an extent this is true, but I don’t see any benefits on moving to the final stages of the situation, so as someone who has morals and sympathy I thought leaving a detailed letter to the person knowing what is about to happen is better than any sudden surprises. I’m not actually meeting the person. I could go all lengths to find the address after doing legally reported things but I won’t stretch to that extent.

If I'm not mistaken, it sounds like you're about to pull out of sponsoring them on a spouse visa. If they've decided to end the relationship, there's a pretty good chance they've factored that into their mind already.

    • I could have it delivered at work place as we all work same place, I can’t wait till lockdown is ended. Also I prefer not to start any unnecessary scenarios there , so I thought my option was the most common sense thing that can be done .

  • +7

In this scenario your morals and sympathy are guaranteed to end up with an AVO taken against you. So stay away without trying to overcomplicate things or making a bad situation worse. Since you have mentioned about receiving legal advice get your lawyer to send/email the document to the other party. First show your letter to the lawyer and seek advice whether it is something you need to send or not. One of my mates did the exact same thing and sent a detailed letter trying to explain his side of the situation and the other party used that letter against him at court so don't make that same mistake.

it would be nice to have more than 1% of the story..
    fascinated now.

    • Sounds like it's got something to do with this

    • That's all for today. Attracting much the wrong people, ones that recommend with some decency I respect that.

I would but with the amount of trolls here luckily I didn't, whirlpool probably would be better option, couldn't expect much from this sort on this site, just stick to bargains.

I would but with the amount of trolls here

Most of the comments aren't trolling - it's just that you don't want to hear the sensible advice.

In the next Episode of Visa at First Sight, we follow Devok, a kind and ethical person wanting to find love, happiness and where his betrothed is hiding.

    • +1

Just noticed 'Devok' is nearly an anagram of 'Covid'.

    • I think I would watch that…but I feel like this story may even lead to a spin-off like "Postman Finds A Wife"

  • +3

whirlpool probably would be better option

Could you post a link here if you do OP.

It'll save me logging on to Whirlpool and looking for it.

  • +3

Staying tuned for this one, it's fun!

Also please don't go out delivering letters, we're supposed to be in lockdown :)

  • +1

In true Ozbargain style, maybe you should include something with the letter like a pack of Eneloops or Roku Gin (those two gifts will help her move on 👍).
Two things I would not recommend sending are : the free ring sizer or bikies…

  • Gosh, I wonder if this is the follow up to a post a few years ago about a relationship which went sour with possible visa issues. Anyone remember it? I can't find it unfortunately. We were left wondering for so long what resulted. Pages of people theorising.

  • I hope your intentions are pure, but if you know the name and suburb try going to your local member of parliament's office, or to the State Library, and ask to view the electoral roll.
