TEAC is just a yum-cha importer label from who-knows-what lowest-bidder Chinese factory.

If you go one size smaller (7%) to 70", you can get a manufacturer brand such as Hisense or TCL for similar price. Not Sony, but I'd still feel better.

    36-MONTH MANUFACTURER WARRANTY

Yeah, manufacturer is a contractor in the suburbs of Shenzhen or wherever. I doubt that.

  • I bought a TEAC 55" Smart TV 2 years ago. Clunky software as expected, pretty bad picture quality and awful picture quality using the built-in TV tuner. First one arrived with broken screen, second one had a dodgy speaker. To their credit, the warranty service was very good. If you really want this, I would suggest adding a $30 tv tuner and a firestick or smart TV device.
