Great price on the jumbo Benringer. Great for those thinly sliced cabbage salads, (like the fluffy ones you get from Japanese restaurants.)

The dimensions on the title differs from the technical details section, buy at your own risk.

Needless to say, the blades are very sharp, so be careful.

Typically goes for around $100 +/-.

Good price but this is not an Amazon Prime item. Delivery fee of $13.05 applies even if you have prime membership and the order exceeds $49.

  • Only 1 blade. Any good deals on other blades to bring to the total over $49?

    • If U read above. It's not a prime item so won't matter if U spend over $49

    • AFAIK, you won't be able to get cross cut blades for the Jumbo. You need to get the Super version if you want that.

  • Mom has one for 30+ years and it’s still going strong.

  • But I like my fingers.

I got one (another Brand with various attachments) a while ago and haven't used much. I think you really want some chainmail gloves too

  • The price difference is noticeable.
Is there a chance this is a fake one?

  • How does this compare to el cheapo slicer on eBay for $14.00?

Not really a deal when you can get the Progressive PL8 clone (arguably best on the market) for $49 with free delivery:

or $36 at Kodan with some subscription trial 14 days thing: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/ovela-professional-mandoline-fo…

I had one of those and it didn’t last much past a year.

    • What 9 review rating and they are arguably the best in the market? Okaaay.. nvm I thought U were referring to the Amazer link U had

Just look for a Borner V5 Powerline Slicer Starter Set, seem to be decent and have the attachments you want.
Don't really bother with it, can take the end of your finger off fairly easily

Bought one previously, stays in the cupboard. I don't think I can handle that much blood loss again. Took a nice slice of the finger but thankfully it grew back.

But on a functional note, yes very sharp but with the attachments, it can be difficult getting the thing to glide.

Personally I would just get a decent nakiri knife unless you are going to make a bucket of shredded cabbage. If you are, wear chain mesh gloves.

On a positive note, they are fairly easy to clean.

  • Don't waste your money on the other brands, get this one, very sharp and it'll last forever.
Just don't put it in the dishwasher, the blades got blunt for no reason.

    • Forever.. except if put in the dishwasher lol

No reviews and only does slices though, I think you'd want the other inserts so can do juliette etc (same brand but more $$)

I got this one, made in Germany

ps What about the NoCry Cut Resistant Gloves $17.27

    • The reason is corrosion due to prolonged exposure to high temperature and strong cleaning agents in a dishwasher.

in the dishwasher, the blades got blunt for no reason.

  • I got the original about 10 years ago. Still going strong, we use it weekly.

  • Thanks!
