NSW Rashays - If You Fainted, Would You Want Your Boss To Call Emergency Services Straight Away?

https://www.tiktok.com/@scn_worldstar/video/6982515592276364…

Or would you be grateful for the officer calmly strutting around doing absolutely nothing to help the situation, even after your boss asks him to help him call for an ambulance?

I don't do tiktok so can't offer my opinion on the matter.

Is this one of those posts where you don't really want a response, you just want to have your soapbox chance to rant?

    • Highlighting the fact there are always two sides to a story. Current news coverage on the incident is pretty harsh on the business owner.
This is just showing the alternative perspective.

Btw @spackbace, I didn't downvote you. Lol no idea who did.

From the perspective of a business owner, its just saddening to see the whole incident…
Over a dozen cops entering an establishment to discipline two women that were seated 5 feet apart, just coz they were eating some fries and didn’t have a mask on.

How is this even justified ?

How is this even justified ?

Those lunatics not wearing a mask could have killed 10,000 grandma's with the new (and even more contagious) omega plus plus variant! Surely you don't want 50,000 grandma's to die? Should have bought in the SAS in my opinion.

  • What would you do? Isn't this a 'crisis'….

  • I think OP is some kind of JW or training to be a social media influencer.

ooof - yes, my other post from 7 years ago hints at a repetitive want to be a social influencer.

      • I’m sure you would have taken a different stance than meho2026 on this problem..

I see no issue with "dobbing" in anyone that is breaking the rules.

But… hear me out for a quick second: I reckon the situation with the Rashays owner could have been resolved quite amicably if everyone showed each other a bit of respect. 1 or 2 cops having a quiet chat to the owner and reminding him of his responsibility would have gone down quite well - with him and his staff.

          A dozen cops… seems a bit much.

          • @CrushJelly:

if everyone showed each other a bit of respect

Problem with this is, it isn’t a codified rule. Please don’t say commonsense because it isn’t that common.

So, if you were in the hot seat (the police) and you sound like a rule enforcer, what will you do? Enforce the rule book right?

            PS. I didn’t neg you.

            • @SF3: There's always a balance mate. I would expect police officers to enforce the law/rules, but also exercise discretion and empathy.
Hence my comment about 1 or 2 officers having a quiet/stern word with the owner to make sure he is aware of why the rules are there and why they are being enforced - and then leaving it.

What actually happened is just well overblown.

                @CrushJelly: I agree.

I find it hard to believe 10 cops showed up from the get go though. Surely the (unnecessary) crew arrived only after ongoing issues with the boss.

The cops got a tip off. They have an obligation to check it out. If it really was over just 2 girls eating fries, I'd like to think it could have been as simple as a quick chat.

Had the owner just complied with whatever it was they were requesting, that wouldve been it.

I've seen countless videos where simple situations with cops have gotten crazy OOC because the civilian is refusing to provide ID, refusing to comply, resisting arrest and shiz goes mental.

  • The stark contrast between how people are treated in higher socioeconomic areas and lower socioeconomic areas in Sydney is so stark that it just disturbs me. Out of all states NSW is definitely not the “fair go” state whatsoever. Worst state for equality IMO, you can even see it driving from one suburb to the next, just straight up weird.

    • I dunno about that. last year there were plenty of videos on Bondi local of cops and locals having intense situations over lockdown

  • Why didn't the boss immediately call for an ambulance??????

He was trying to blame the police for not looking after his staff member who fainted at work. Where are his OHS responses? He appears to be blame shifting and trying to gain sympathy whilst being in breech of local Covid 19 requirements. Manufactured outrage, failing to assist his employee.

    • He did. He called ambo asap.

It's reasonable to assume the cops have a channel to get access to ambo's faster via their radios. Perhaps that's why he demanded them to protect his staff first.

  • People get what they deserve in the end.

  • The boss is apparently one of those old school types who micromanage their staff to death and don't allow wfh or lunch breaks. Based off people in r/sydney who have worked with him before.

Also, is Rashays any good? I was surprised they had 30 or so locations? I've never been to one before.

    • It's shit, but fast and cheap.

  • 8 white police officers storming what looks like a business owned by a person of middle eastern descent.

    Classic radical profiling 101.
