OzRRP? Still a good price considering things and it’s in stock right now.

It was $30 delivery to NSW for me, finally bit the bullet with the heavier lockdown kicking in.

    Hooooooold

    • +7

Wish I could have but nothing better to do with Lockdown 2: Electric Boogaloo

      • +4

Keep holding for the next 5 yrs, it will drop..

        • +4

When 5xxx series releases? I think we will see a big price drop!

          • @adelliah: I hear the Ampere Next Next (6xxx) is the one to buy, more performance than 3xxx series. Who'll HODL coin till then?!

      • Just moonwalk around your broom for a bit ! 😋

    • +1

      hold until rtx 40 come…

    • I had a look at TMall(more formal version of taobao) today, the brand new 3070ti price start about $1100, given China have 17% GST, we have 10%, so the price should be similiar after a while. 3070Ti doesnt seems selling well, so unless Nvidia leaks another developer's driver for mining, the price will be definitely down.

  • really interested to know if anyone has tested these to be LHR or not as they are not branded LHR on the package.

    • +12

Pretty sure all Ti cards are LHR?

    • +3

      all 3070TI & 3080TI are LHR.
AFAIK, the vendors mark their LHR products version/rev 2, not aware of any product would ever mark LHR on the package.

    • +5

They don't need to be "branded" as LHR as there was never a previous Ti variant with full hash rate capability.

      • +1

        This.

The only products that are branded LHR are models which launched without it originally. So this includes the 3070 and 3080 for example, where they now have LHR.

3070Ti etc. launched with LHR and so from a consumer law point of view they don't need to advertise it.

It's very confusing for a lot of people.

  • +19

Crazy to think I paid exactly this for a 3080 and thought I was stupid at the time.

    • +4

I'll be paying this for my 3080ti before too long

    • +1

A mate paid $50 more than this for a 3080 :( least mine is on the way and they’re still in a queue 🤷‍♂️

    • +21

I didn't upgrade my card so I paid nothing.

      • +7

I sold my old card at an inflated price and got a new one so I paid nothing AND got a free upgrade

        • -5

          Prove it

          • +14

            @scottySK: No.

I will just say however that any 5700XT owners really hit the jackpot. You could sell them for over $1000 and get a 6700XT while they were still under $900.

            • +1

@m3ndL3: Yep, I did the exach same thing. Sold my 5700xt for $1200 and bought a 6700xt for $1000

              • @roffey1: how are you liking the 6700xt?

            • +3

@m3ndL3: This man said No, and I applaud him.

It's also pretty obvious this can happen as the cards have now peaked and are going downhill fast, why the heck does he need to prove such an obvious scenario. Many patient others are in the same boat

    • +1

I think we all know and have heard multitude of times that these are not the ideal prices for cards. But there will be people who are interested to buy them at current cheap prices

      • +6

I wouldn't call these as cheap prices. More like less expensive.

        • +10

I hear you. People don't call me ugly, just less visually appealing.

    • I paid $1500 for my gaming PC 11 years ago without a monitor/keyboard/mouse. I'm still using it today, but obviously can't play recent games.

      • +36

My cat's breath smells like catfood.

      • +8

I paid $25 for my tamagotchi 20 years ago and it still runs just fine.

      • +3

I paid $3000 for my 286DX long ago..

        • +5

Haha, I guess I only mentioned it because I'm still using the PC today, and the cost of it with a great GPU is the price of a GPU today. Crazy. I am looking at building a new PC but it's un-justifiably expensive.

      • Can't laugh at you. I hand my old PC down to my father to use, also 11 years old which I built in 2010 with ATI 5850 graphics card, of course he doesn't game on it.

        • Yep haha, I did upgrade my GPU and also SSD along the way. But yep. I was going to buy new PC, but upgraded the PS4 to PS5 instead. Playing Forza Horizon 4 just fine on the pc, just have graphics down to high/medium.

    • You still were, in stock 3080 wasn't much more expensive at the time

    • kicking myself for not getting a second card at xmas, thought I would be nice to everyone else and not hog supply when I didn't need second till feb. Now my card second hand is still worth 50% more than I paid for it and I can't get a second at a reasonable price.

    • +3

I paid $1139 for 3080 on release date and still think it was too high.

      • I just checked my invoice as I thought I was imagining how "cheap" I got mine for. Same thing $1,139. At the time i thought I was an idiot for spending that much and should have waited for price to drop…..

        • I wanted one of the EVGAs as well but ended up getting a Gaming OC for a bit more, they look looker money well spent now huh

    • I thought I had as smart by not paying launch prices but I am the real dumb dumb.

    • 1139 here ;D

    • I sold my 5700xt for $100 under this. Then brought a 3080 so jokes on me.

  • +6

OzRRP? Nah more like OzhigherthanRRP am I right?

    Just kidding.

I guess this is decent if you need to buy now but if not then like others have said, prices are expected to go down even more soon

    • +6

I’ve been hearing “soon™️“ for the price drops ever since they released!

      • +10

We've seen minor price drops already, but the big thing is we're seeing stock. Once the demand slows and inventory continues to build we'll see distributors cut prices. When is soon? No clue just don't ask Blizzard.

      • +1

You just need to look at eBay sold prices.
They have been trending downwards since a few weeks ago.

I've personally seen the same. Have sold a 3070 as high as $1800 about a month ago. But now eBay prices are trending towards the $1400 mark.

      • +2

because that's ass talk, with zero evidence rumours, don't listen to them :D

But when China straight up announces into law the banning of mining, that's no rumour.

And the prices falling prove that.

Also, to those people keep saying "They'll just move the mining elsewhere" Okay sunshine, that's not done overnight, they can't move Entire mining rigs next door, the whole country is banned, it takes a lot of time to move that shit to a whole other country and I don't know how good China-Russo relations are these days., and not to mention the MONEY it takes to transport, the time it takes is all downtime spend NOT making money.

Money that would be better if not spend and just sell off the GPUs now at the inflated prices before going down.

If the owners already made a few million, they already got thiers. and they're getting out. Not everyone is going to move to a whole other country. No, They're SELLING those GPUs to people already established in those countries. And if you're lucky, you can be a customer too.

        • +1

Where can I buy these fabulous second hand parts? I’m sure they have amazing warranty and haven’t been run at 100% for their entire life!

          • +2

@adelliah: Oh, I wouldn't touch that crap, What I'm saying is other miners would gobble it up and get discounts for wholesale transfers, but me and you? Don't touch this with 10 foot pole.

But the good news relevant to us, is with many selling and getting out of the game, these GPUs are being transferred to new owners and thus the demand for the New good stuff is less, hence falling prices.

That's the stuff WE want to buy :D

          • @adelliah: More supply means lower prices mate. Whether you like it or not the second hand market hugely affects retail prices in just about any market. Not just GPU's.

          • @adelliah: I would buy these fabulous second hand cards, at $50 a piece XD

  • Crypto-coin demand drop-off impacting GPU prices ….. To the MOOOOOOOOOOOOOON

    • +1

The government should investigate keeping the jobkeeper for crypto miners until they are back on their feet

    • It'll be a crater on the moon at this rate.

    • +2

its funny on my instagram..watching friends and some cousins stories who do crypto.
everyday for the past year posting there +, screaming to the MOOOOONNN.
they dont post anymore now lol

      • +1

Can't speak for others but I'm mining pretty hard and don't "do" crypto. I just sell it all immediately into AUD and deposit into the good old fashioned bank :)

Its more the sensationalist traders and average joes who plug it in the hopes that their coins they bought with FIAT will go up. And yes I am glad they shut the hell up also :)

Mining is still very profitable, so don't expect the non LHR cards to fall too much further. My prediction is that LHR cards will fall back to rrp or maybe 2/3 the value of non LHR.

    • +1

      or or

more people got their hands on them now and demand is stabilizing as well

crazy talk I know since its easier to just blame one big bad guy

  • +3

Good price but yes, it's on way down so unless you have to get it wait a month

    • +1

I’m doing my best to wait and wait… must… wait…

      • +1

for this price you will be able to get 6800 xt soon, which would be much much better

  • +1

I preordered from PLE yesterday so might as well wait… I have a feeling by the time mine gets delivered it'll lose a hundred or two hundred dollars.

  • How much can this make per day mining Ethereum?

    • LHR so very very little

      • +1

Actually even with LHR it looks to do ~40MH/s which is good and will earn ~4$AUD/day.

It's as good as having 2x 1060s but takes less power.

    • Don't mine etherium with it. LHR doesn't effect conflux and ravencoin, u should make $3.6 after deducting electricity, but it will still take 14 month to payoff though. U would only make $3 a day mining etherium.
By contrast, 3070 will make $4.5 a day, so is 6800. But u can get a Asus TUF 6800 from SE for $1500, which is $150 over to rrp, and u get a better 4K gaming card than 3070ti ($300 over rrp) and 3070 ($500 over rrp). It's ur call.
Etherium proof of stake is coming, sooner or later, everyone will shift to other coins, then LHR will be meaningless anyway. Then Amd card is much worse than nvidia for mining conflux and ravencoin. But 6800 is a better gaming card if u don't use RT or DLSS

  • +1

Currently got an offer to sell my RTX 2070 for $700. Worth taking that and buying this or should I hold out?

    • +1

I'd say it's worth it! I think that's great value considering it's not very likely for the card to increase in value

    • +2

      +1 take it
I’m hoping to offload my 1070 for $300 to offset this pricey purchase a bit

      • 1070 is still worth $400ish in current market i reckon.

        • Agreed, but the market is adjusting really fast and by Monday afternoon $300 might be the going rate.

OP should list the 1070 for $400 for a quick sale this weekend.

    • I dunno… I sold my 1080Ti for $975 over a year ago thinking it was the best deal ever and thought I'd get something decently priced later down the track. The track is looking pretty freaking long atm…

  • i pity the bloke that bought my 6 month old 3070 for $1520 on ebay. I did take care of it thought and never mined.

    • If it's an FHR model, and he's gonna mine with it, he still got a reasonable deal.

    • Flogged mine off for $1600 on FB marketplace just this week

  • +8

if u guys have waited this long to buy a new gpu, why jump on now? just a bit more patience and perseverance

prices aren't going to blow back up, only direction they are going is down.

    • +1

Yeah I agree, my 1070 will last a bit longer ;)

  • -2

I bought a new MSI 2080Ti for $1099 when it became obvious there was no 30 series supply ,Who's laughing now.?

    • +3

      Who?

    • -1

No big deal, unless it was 3080Ti.

  • -1

Was at the time .They dropped from$2199 over night when the 30 series was released , you either took advantage of the price cut or waited for a series 30 which never came.So many here said I done my dough so I guess it is me laughing if I could be bothered.
