Thanks for your financial advice re: investment in Lego. Given that Jeff has stepped down as the CEO as of Monday, do you think the market sentiment re: buying this set will be affected as a result of the announcement? Keen to hear your professional advice on this.
Sarcasm is cool and all, but he has a point. Do you think an Amazon monopoly is good for small businesses? Local jobs?
That is such an interesting point which you have raised. If you look at majority of the deals which have been posted, majority of them aren't exactly 'small businesses'. If everyone was to share your sentiment, I'd imagine that you wouldn't be seeing a whole lot of posts promoting the use of pricing from ‘smaller businesses' to get an additional 5% pricebeat at Officeworks.
Therefore, my question back to you is, do you think that Ozbargainers are generally hypocrites here at OzBargain (yourself included)? I'd hazard a guess and say that the urge for a bargain will usually trump our inner need for economic justice. Local jobs? With the current age of gig-economy and the wide availability of online marketplace platforms, 'local' is really a becoming a moot point especially in the retail space.
@moo: I agree, you could have a bargain or you could shop local.
I also don't see how shopping at Target is any different than Amazon in that regard.
